Out the door for work, hadnt made a thread in awhile. Sox get your s*** together. Overall the facets of what make this a great team really havent showed up against a team they might be facing again in October. As Jerry said, things can snowball if a losing streak starts on the west coast road trips (like we saw in June). Tonights a toss up as it is Jon Lester vs Dustin Moseley. Yanks meanwhile tonight will have to face Halladay whil their ace Wang opposes him. I will do the matchups when I get back from work, tho I do know that Crisp has the day off and Drew will be playing in center field

It's all about the future for Lester

Left-hander Jon Lester takes the mound in Anaheim for his fourth start of the season since returning to the Red Sox. It was at Angel Stadium where Lester made his last start before being diagnosed with treatable lymphoma last August. As for any special significance in returning to Anaheim, Lester says there is none. "I'm just looking at it as another start," he said. "I'm worried about that lineup."

That Angels lineup is one against which Lester will have need better command of his pitches than he did in his last outing, Friday. "In Seattle, I didn't have really good command of the fastball on the outside of the plate," Lester said,. "I have to really do a better job of that against the kind of lineup I'll face." While Lester denies that Wednesday's game will be anything other than just another game, and he says that he doesn't think about the past much, he did let on that next Tuesday's start in Fenway, his first since his illness, will be special.

"I'm sure the emotions will come back on Tuesday," he said. "I'm looking forward to pitching again in Fenway Park."

Pitching matchup

BOS: LHP Jon Lester (1-0, 5.09 ERA)

Lester was staked to a 3-0 lead early in his last outing, but couldn't get past the fifth inning in Seattle. He worked five innings, allowing four runs on eight hits before leaving with the game tied at 4. Lester also walked two and struck out four in the no-decision. After winning his first start, Lester has had a pair of no-decisions for the Red Sox.

LAA: RHP Dustin Moseley (4-1, 4.43 ERA)

Moseley survived some shaky innings and gave the Angels a good start in his last outing against Oakland. Moseley allowed three runs over 5 1/3 innings, as all three runs scored in the third inning. He allowed the first two hitters of the second to reach base but escaped that jam. He left in the sixth with the bases loaded and one out, and the bullpen helped him get out of that mess. He has faced Boston once in relief, dealing two scoreless innings.

Its time for some comeback mojo

Anyone make it out to the game yesterday' date=' and do any of you guys get on your players that are not performing well in Fenway?[/quote']

It depends on who it is. We'll get on players that deserve having their asses run into the ground.

That is what I thought, I went to the game with my girlfriend who is a die-hard Sox fan. We started riding Drew once he came into the game last night, and we kept the dialog really clean. I had this stupid Red Sox fan tell me I was effecting Drew's play, and I should not ride him so hard. I am guessing 1/2 the stadium last night jsut picked up their Sox gear before the game. What a joke, and that Stadium is a piece of crap. Ohh, and I finally got a first hand experence of the brilliance that is WMP. WMP = Man Ram on roller skates.

Piece of crap? Its no fenway but I thought it was pretty damn nice.

And ya I'm sure half the red sox fans there couldn't even tell you half of the lineup. Luckily we were around a bunch of people that were as die hard as us..makes it much more enjoyable..especially how loud the lets go sox chants get.

Those people are idiots who have special "Red Sox Nation West Coast" T-shirts. Those are almost as bad as pink hats. Almost. Drew's been spanking the ball recently though, so I don't grind him as much. I also just feel bad with his kid right now, and I'm sure it's been messing with him a little bit. If he reverts back to his old form, there will be problems.

"Red Sox Nation West Coast" T-shirts, guess that comes with winning. Funny how everyone that jumped on the Yankee bandwagon in the late 90s are all life long Red Sox fans now. The best part is their expansive knowledge on the Red Sox, and the game of baseball. For his reason alone I hope the Cubs never win one again.

Cant catch any breaks. Ortiz is out of tonight's lineup with a sore shoulder, that being from his head first dive into 2nd base. The Orioles series is questionable for Ortiz. Manny the DH, Wily Mo in left. Ive updated the lineups

I'm probably one of the most negative people on this board, but does anyone else have a really good feeling about tonight's game?

I don't know why, but I have a good feeling as well. If they win tonight it'll be a successful west coast road trip, IMO. Taking 2/3 from a hot Seattle team on the road, and then going into Anaheim and nabbing a game from the red-hot Angels (best home record in baseball) sounds good to me. I'm not in any position of panicking. I really do feel good about tonight and I'm expecting the Sox to continue to play well.

I'm going to the Sox game on Sunday at Camden Yards. It's my first non-Fenway Park game. Woo!

I know this is nitpicky' date=' but Id really like to see some extra-base hits from Drew and Lugo soon.[/quote']

Drew yes, but I'm happy when Lugo gets on base.
