That's what I'm saying he's a number 3 at best.

Yeah, at 23 years old he's a #3 NOW on about half of the teams in baseball. If you don't think that is a high current upside for a 'prospect' (I hesitate to use that term with him) then I don't know what to say.

Personally, I think Lester's upside is a #2 on a playoff team once he matures a few years. His stuff is very, very good and he's pretty developed for his age.

Well I hope they don't trade the kid, I love they way he pitches, I hope he's here is entire career, but he would only be a number four on that rotation with Beckett, Matsuzaka and Bucholz. Right?

What do you guys think the chances are we land Tex? I don't see it happening and why would we f*** with the goos chemistry we have. Are there any realistic trades we can make without losing players that have helped us all year?

Which one are you talking about?

Sox win! Take 3/4 from Cleveland ON THE ROAD. Beastly. This is the team I remember. And with the Yanks losing 6-0 in KC, 7.5 games looks more like a probability. Good night for a game. Pitching struggled, but hopefully Gabbard can get it together for his next one.

Only for a bench player probably. Besides, if we land Teixeira we upgrade our team. Why wouldn't you want to do that? Chemistry gets you as far as the first pitch of the next game.

Yesss Sox win, 62-40, back to 22 games above .500. Sox take 3 out of 4 and win the season series against Cleveland, 5-2 Damn

*close to regaining that 7.5 game lead if KC can hold that large lead they currently have

Gabbard hit a bump in the road, one that was probably caused by waiting almost a half an hour to get back out there. Just something he needs to put behind him and be ready to pitch against the Orioles, luckily for him it will be a home start

The offense was no remorse tonight. Manny and Wily Mo stood out as they combined for 3 HRs, 8 RBIs

Onto the Trop!! Wake will take his 16-2 lifetime record into Tampa Bay... against JP Howell who only last 0.2 inning in his first start vs Boston this year

Oh. Well then, if the Sox can get a Teixeira in return for him and Youk in the same package, I think you have to consider it. But you only trade for Teixeira if you make an extension a condition of the deal, because there's no way you give up that much if Teixeira is intent on testing free agency after '08.

Anyway, our rotation will be in damn good shape if Lester pitches like a #2 when he's actually the #4.

I think it is becoming less likely every day. My guess is that Texas demanded either Ellsbury or Buchholz--probably Buchholz--or the package of players they wanted was too high.

I actually think this would be an AMAZING time to deal for some top prospects. Teams are paying a lot for relief pitching and power, and we have both.

I don't see any reason to move Youkilis or Lowell unless you can do a Teixeira-type upgrade.

I wouldn't be shocked if the Sox didn't 'make any major deals. Of course, I was thinking last night that this would be a good time to trade Manny  Then manny knocks 2 out of the yard. :dunno:

Eh, Gabbard not throwing a strike after 20 pitches in the same inning was because of the long wait? I think he just collapsed mentally when things started going wrong. He just didn't sack up. It happens.

He's really not that great. He ran into the middle of the Guardians lineup, and they handled him. I think it has more to do with talent, than anything mental.

Drew looks so weird doing that little dance that he does with Ortiz and Manny after one of them hit a homer.

Did they do that dance tonight? The one where they jump up and down while throwing their arms in the air?

I was wondering if some of the guys were still doing it or not. I haven't seen the dance for a while now. If they've done it lately I haven't seen it shown, although I thought it was pretty entertaining.

Wily f***in' Mo? He's showcasing himself pretty nicely.

His power is frightening. The double, and the HR were just tattoooooood. My mouth dropped wide open watching the flight on those balls. He has frightening potential.....which probably will go to waste in Boston.

He still cant hit a big league curveball....because he never learned to hit a minor league curveball first......since he never really had a chance to develop in minor league ball.

Wow, talk about a softball game score, sheesh. Good to see bats wake up after getting shut out last night, seemed fitting for this game to be high scoring with the tight first three games. Great series win!

I thought that was momentum?

It was a late night. Hush up.

Chemistry is just as much BS as momentum is. They're professional baseball players. They know how to play whether they like their teammates or not.
