Papelbon made it interesting.

I'm hoping for a sweep with the Guardians. Either way, I don't really care. Sox sweep Cleveland or vice versa. Couple that with the Yankees winning two of three in KC, and it's on.

The Sox still have 28 of the next 64 games games facing Baltimore and the inept pitching staff that is Tampa Bay

Piniero is going to be DFAed according to Tito

I was excited to see this news, and was hoping this wouldve been the move made. Lopez yes has options but the Sox are better with him as the 2nd lefty in the pen. This only makes the 2nd best bullpen in baseball even stronger

Nice win, scary at times but still a WIN.

Good day for Manny & Lowell. Wake started off strong. The batters start to figure him out I guess. BP did well, Paps made me nervous, but pulled it out. Nice TEAM work.

I hate road games only one in the Guardians series is on NESN and two during the DRays series.

should be an interesting series coming up. I want Lester to do well since he represents a broaded interest than just baseball' date=' but the yankee fan in me hopes he loses.[/quote']

You should hope that he goes 8 innings of shutout baseball and then Papelbon gives up a walk-off homer in the 9th.

EDIT: And oh, example, you have the gamethread duties tomorrow since you made it (if you want them). Just providing some clarity.

that sounds good to me. I think Lester now has a bigger role than just baseball player and he can mold into that role with continued baseball success.

That being said, I think bringing him up is a horrible idea as I think he is finally starting to feel the effects of his treatments. His drain in stamina must be enough to send a typical man to bed halfway through the day. This kid is tough, but this may be too much.

I am sorry I didn't realize that by using Youkilis's lack of speed as an example of an observation that could be made on the spot was tantamount to hating the guy. I like his work ethic. I think he gets the most out of his talent. He has great discipline and has made himself into an above average fielder. Does that sound like I hate the guy? That being said, he is slow. Pedroia and him joke about who is slower. Of course, each of them thinks the other one is slower. His power is also limited especially to the opposite field. There you have it. I guess I despise him. I am sorry if the term base-clogger offends you, but it's just the way that I refer to slow guys. Nothing personal against Youk, beccause the Red Sox have a long tradition of base-cloggers. My all-time favorit base-clogger was Hall of Famer Wade Boggs. I despised him and all his batting titles.

Some of you really over react here. I said that I hadn't seen Crisp in a while and he got a terrible jump the first game that I got back to Fenway and you all conclude that I am calling him a terrible fielder. It was an observation in response to posts that he had improved his jumps this year. For the record, he got excellent jumps today and the sun didn't seem to give him much trouble today. I think he is a good fielder, and if his jumps have improved he would be an above average fly catcher. As has been pointed out, I have only seen him twice in the last couple of months, so I won't render an opinion one way or another. I will be seeing more of him for the remainder of the season. However, IMO he is not a gold glove caliber OF because he has a very weak and inaccurate arm. IMO you need a good arm to be considered GG caliber. Maybe you have a different opinion. However, observing that Crisp has a weak arm doesn't mean I hate him. It just means that I think he has a weak arm. I think it is an accurate observation. He is hitting line drives all over the place which is a really good thing, but he has a "noodle arm". If you want to call him "noodle arm" to mock me tomorrow when he gets a hit, feel free to engage in your childish behavior.

I'd respond, but I'm in fear of a shakedown from our lawyer friend.

Is it possible for both the Red Sox AND Guardians to lose tomorrow? That would be sweet!

A tie would be your best bet if your confident that you guys win... but you guys have problems of your own -- Royals just took two of three from Detroit and the Tigers needed a walkoff HR for their win. And they played pretty damn good against us.
