5 and 5 in the last 10. We should be extending our lead and putting nails in the Yankee coffin. I hope the FO is not lulled into a false sense of security by the big 10 game lead. This team needs reinforcing if it is going to be force in the playoffs.

This is Manny's fault mostly, but everyone's at fault somewhat. They all sucked ASS. This was as poor as they've been in a LONG time. I can't stand this. They all played like s*** tonight and they deserved what they got. They better win tomorrow and show that they have some heart.

The only person exempt from the "f*** you" is Kason Gabbard. The kid sacked up tonight.

Delcarmen and Lopez too. Also Ortiz. Maybe Pedroia.

Don't start s*** because you said you'd have used him earlier too.

No no no no no please don't do this my brain can't handle another debate right now :(

I'm not starting any s***. I would have used him, and I wouldn't have criticized Tito for it. there was a chance that he would have lost the game at that time too. the point is that you just don't know who is going to do what so criticizing as if you can is just baseless.

I totally agree. Something needs to happen.

You don't pitch to Ivan Rodriguez with an open base and Thames on deck. That's just Managing 101.

That could be true. But if I have Papelbon I'm not thinking about having him back down from anyone.

You don't want the kid to fear anyone in any situation. That's why it is the manager's job to get up off his ass and hold up four fingers. Tito did not give the kid the best chance of succeeding by sitting on his hands. He calls throws to first from the dugout but not IBB's?

Papelbon got "too fuking intense" for his own good. <_>

That was Papelbon's fault. You have the game on the line and you decide to go after a great hitter, you dont do it with your 3rd or fourth best pitch. That cutter was meat. He should have gone heat and splitty with a showme cutter off the plate.

I don't walk Pudge there. Simple numbers: Pudge 95 OPS+, Thames 107 OPS+. Sure, maybe Pudge is a savvy veteran, but he really is worse than Thames and that does not make any sense to walk him to face a better hitter when you don't need a double play.

Thames better than Ivan Rodriguez? Puhlease!:thumbdown

I agree there. But either way' date=' if he left that pitch over the plate to any major league hitter worth his salt and he'd smack it too.[/quote']Thames, a career .241 hitter, might have popped it up.

An 88 mph cutter left down the middle of the plate? Sure he might have missed it. Or he might have hit it off the scoreboard.
Bur we know that Ivan Rodgriguez does not miss that pitch.
