Curt Schilling will go on the disabled list with his right shoulder problem, the Red Sox announced.

That the Red Sox are rearranging their rotation, it looks like Jon Lester will be the choice to replace Schilling next Tuesday. The team already said that Josh Beckett will be moved up to Sunday and Julian Tavarez will go Monday.

I don't think its too early at all. Last year his AAA numbers were good when we brought him up, but he didn't have time to settle in there and learn how to get deep into games etc. There are some intricacies to being a major league pitcher and Lester missed out on those being called up so early last year. I think there was a lot of learning on the job last year for Lester when he was called up and his AAA numbers so far have been great. He is past the point of needing to be on a short leash and I think he is back around full strength. He is ready and I think we might need him.

thats what i would do first too

Lets bring up Hansack! He was sooooo sick last year!!!! Kidding, I think after his performances this year....that uproar has kind of faded. I would not be opposed to Gabbard coming up...ive liked what ive seen from the kid. Plus hes lefty, and we never see lefty starting pitching in Boston (besides Lester......and ahhhh Bruce Hurst).

I know David Pauley wont get the call, but has looked just as good!

4-1 3.35 ERA,

I think I'm the only one, but I think that Pauley has a future as a 5th starter somewhere in the MLB. He pitched O.K. a few times last year, and he also sucked a few times last year. He has a good sinking FB and kind of reminds me of a poormans Derek Lowe. If not Lester than I say give Pauley another shot.

Over Gabbard?

hell, I think I'd rather see Buchholz up here over Pauley. But definitelty Lester then Gabbard as my top 2 choices

I think I'd rather them not ruin our best prospect since Nomar by rushing him up to the bigs in a season where we are the best team in baseball and don't have an absolute pressing need right now.
