Interesting piece. Donnelly had a lot to say. The easy answer is Pineiro, but with the 4 mil he is being paid and the fact that he only recently started relieving, he may be kepts. The one that makes sense personell wise is to option Lopez down because he has options left, but he has dominated lefties this yr. Snyder, Paps, Okajima, and Donnelly all have cemented their places and from the sounds of it, Romero is safe too.

Id see if there are any feelers on Pinerio. Some national laegue team might take a chance on him, such as maybe the Phillies. Don´t expect much back, but maye you can get them to pick up 2M of the salary, or something anythinig really...

Agreed. His periphs are HORRIBLE (6.75 BB/9). Also, his H/9 is 10.80 :shock: .

There is nothing wrong with Dixon, keep him. Romero and Pineiro have to go though. Timlin and Delcarmen/Hansen should be in the pen.

Within the next week or so, both Timlin and Lester are expected to be up. Id say the Sox should get rid of both Romero and Pineiro. Release Romero as he is owed just $1 million. Send Pineiro to some NL team with Sox eating up most of the salary, get something close to decent in return

 

Then Sox would have a pitching staff...

Kind of hard to say who will come when Timlin goes. I'd think it would be Manny Delcarmen though. Lester is supposed to be back soon so I expect Tavarez to go back into the pen and Lester to be a starter.

I guess we could see them shop Snyder, sine JT will most likely take over the long man spot starter role, or the could shop JT and sell hi on him, not sure what he bring back, but between JT, Snyder, and Pinerio I think atleast one of them gets moved in a trade.
