To your second point- I still have faith in Wakefield unlike some other fans on this board.

It's not even a matter of faith. Wake hasn't been doing anything differently from what he's been doing for his entire career. He's a streaky pitcher who's god awful when he's not on, and he can be flat out dominant when he is on. Why some people are jumping ship is absolutely beyond me and unwarranted.

Wakefield goes through these streaks EVERY SEASON. This is nothing new. He gets red hot' date=' then ice cold, the red hot... you catch the drift.[/quote']

put Wake's recent slide with facing another soft tossing lefty and tomorrow does not look very good.

Actually, yes it's Lugo and Coco's fault. With 2 outs, a sac fly or an RBI groundout DOESN'T WORK, LUGO. And a dinky pop up is even worse.

Coco and Lugo are the two worst hitters in our lineup. Care to refute that? Coco doesn't know how to work a count. Lugo can't get on base enough to be effective. He gets RBIs by recording outs. It's getting ridiculous. And yes, it IS their fault.

I understand that but basesloaded 1 out, Youklis up hes the guy that needed the fly ball. Noway am I knocking Youk just saying I don't expect much from those 2.

Got to give it to you Dice showed me guts tonight "applauds his effort"

Don't even bring Youk's name into this. You look, RIGHT NOW, at what Youk has done this season vs. Lugo and Crisp. Get back to me. Sure, Youk didn't come through in a situation that we would have liked him to, but he can't do it all the time. What have Lugo and Crisp done?

Let me guess. The only thing you remember from his most recent outing against Texas is that he sucked and you completely disregard the fact that he pitched through the stomach flu. Right? Did he not show you guts then?

128 pitches is absurd.

I really don't think so. I tend to think pitch count can be overated, especially with a guy like DiceK who probably averaged 120 PG last season.

Dice was also pitching once a week over there.

Bullpen pitched 6 1/3 innings last night. Can't be burning those guys you should know better then anyone with Torre.

Daisuke pitched an 18 inning complete game in high school, then pitched out of the bullpen the next day. If his arm can take that in HIGH SCHOOL, I think his arm can handle 128 pitches tonight.

your arm is much more flexible at 18 than it is at 26.

You can't blame this shutout on any one player. They just aren't having a good day. The whole lineup. You can't expect one player to come through every time. There needs to be a team effort. This team has been amazing so far in being able to play as a team and contribute as a team. Tonight is just a bad night, thats it. We aren't going to always produce, it just so happens everyone is off tonight, probably has to do with the extra inning game and morning flight. It's only one game...

that was pretty funny. He fell down avoiding the bat, while not paying attention to the fact that it was hit directly to Chavez. if he freezes on that liner, like he should have, he's still on 1st.
