the season starts "for real" if you guys give away about 10 games of your lead. Then' date=' you should worry. Every team hits bad stretches and I had been saying that the sox were not as good as they were playing for awhile now. That being said, the pitching has been pretty good and should make shallow the bad times and strengthen the good. If you were putting this lead together solely on O, then I'd say you were beatable. But right now, unless Beckett goes down again, your team has a hammer and then a corps of solid pitchers. You'll be fine.[/quote']

Thats what I just said. Heres the first dry spell of the season. All was dandy now we are going to find out about the team we root for. You guys miss quote alot.

I don't know about you, but I don't think the Orioles really have a shot at winning the division. I want the O's to keep winning, obviously not to catch up with us, but keep the pressure on NY.

no, you said the season started for real now, when you are up by 12.5, maybe 11.5 after tonight. And I am telling you that you cannot honestly sit there and say the seaosn starts now when you have nearly half a months lead on us.

And I was being nice to you. <_>

:D

I wasnt being an *******. I just remember 2004 when I got so frustrated in May or June when we would lose a game in the standings. Yeah, you guys won the WS, but in terms of the division, you should sleep soundly until it gets down to 3 games or so.

It does start now. You take the good with the bad. We had too months of good now early june is rough so far. Can't know just how good you are until you are battle tested which Boston clearly is after tonights game.

Agree only to me it's until the Yankees hit 500.

no, they are not. You get "battle tested" when you fight off an opponent in a clutch spot. Unless you consider April to be clutch (is this ARod?) then you havent been "battle-tested" this season. And to be honest with you, you dont want to be "battle-tested". That means you let your s*** slip into a reachable range.

I know you werent, dude. But I really appreciate the posts youve been making. Nothing like a level-minded Yankees fan to shove a little common sense and realism into the faces of some of the more idiotic Sox fans around here. Hell, Id recommend you as a Mod if we needed another one, just for the awesomeness of the shock value.

Ok then how about challenged is that a better choice of words?

what does us hitting .500 have to do with anything? If we make it to .500 (which would take a week at this point if we didnt lose, fat chance) and you guys still have a 11.5 game lead, what would it matter.

Question Jacko, If you had to choose between being 30 games out in June and eventually losing, or losing it in the last game of the season which way do you go? They both have their benefits, but i'm just curious.

challenged would be the same thing.

How about, slumping. The sox are slumping for the first time this season. Thats about all you can say.

You guys are still the Yankees. I'll use a example so i'm not mis quoted. Met fans last year with the Braves were going nuts when Atlanta got to 9 out in early August. Point is when you dominate a era for so long until the dragon is slayed it still looms.

If you really want to find something to worry about, then I can give you something.

The season doesnt start until the sox stay mediocre for an extended period of time and the yankees actually play to their potential. I have a feeling neither will be coming any time soon.

I really just want to give that kid a fit. He seems the worrying sort. Now he is worrying about not having anything to worry about. I figured I'd throw him a yankee flavored bone.

I know I cant say anything because my team has been pwned by Bako, Hairston, Danks, and the like. But getting shutout by Dinardo for 6 innings and being closed out by Embree is pretty sad. Wow.

Not the worrying type at all. Thats the fun of sports you never know what can happen. Still alot of ball to be played.
