Lowell a class act

Heard about this on Dale n Holley but couldn't find the Gammons piece online, please forgive me i will try and get the details right.

 

Apparently a girl from UNH died in a car crash recently and Lowell was her favorite player on the sox...well somehow it got back to the sox and Lowell found out about it. He sent a signed uniform to her parents with the phrase (girls name) may you rest in peace...and signed it. He also wrote it on the uniform or told the parents that he would hit a HR the night of her funeral. That night with his uniform draped over her coffin he hit a HR against the Jays.

ive always found it amazing that when someone says there gonna do something tough like hit a hr, etc., in honor of someone or something, they always seem to come through. I know this has happened before with someone promising to hit a HR, cant remember the situation though

Millar in 05 hadnt hit a home run yet that season and he met a fan before the game, she said it was her birthday and he should hit a homerun, he said he would and he did.

Lowells seems to have come out of his shell this year. IMO he's been underrated last year and he's getting a lot of attention this season.

I ate chicken before every single one of my games because I wanted to be just like Wade. He is my favorite player of all time.

 

We have a double digit lead in the division, and you still have a hardon for yankee hatred. There are people whining like Curt didnt just pitch a CG 1 hitter, and his first shutout for the sox. No, they would rather whine about the yanks and lugo making an error. SS's make errors, and the yankees arent going to stop playing games.

 

 

Wade still talks to current red sox players, so maybe your dead grandpa should kill them too.

 

Wade was a tremendous hitter, and Im glad he won a ring.

Because I'm wondering something? I've never heard if Ted did anything like that. Not even after reading the book about him by Leigh Monteville. I just don't recall.
