This team is just good. Much like when facing the Yankees the past few years, it seems the Sox are capable of just playing their game and preventing any winning streak to start for the Yankees. It is frustrating, I'm sure, as the opposition to know that you are very unlikely to win more than 2 in a row against this team.

wow, what an awesome game that was.

Seriously. This bullpen was supposed to be amazing. It sucks. Something awful. This captain, he is supposed to be a glove wizard. In the field, he sucks. Something awful. That guy Moose. He's supposed to be our #2. He sucks. Something awful.

And how about this team sticking up for their comrades. What the f***? I know Proctor drilled Youks last night. But what Lowell did today was punishable by a head hunt. You dont tackle the 2b. I know it is similar to what ARod did, but ARod grazed him while Lowell flat our bumrushed Cano. The deal with Minky was an accident. But it shouldnt have come to that. Vizcaino should have tested out how strong Lowell's helmet was in the 9th.

The Yankees should be hitting the Red Sox, but not because of anything Lowell did. They should be hitting them because the Sox are embarassing them all over the place. The Sox pitchers never had a hard time throwing up and in to the Yankees the past few years and I don't see why the Yankees would now.

Just got back from a party, watching the game from my cell. Glad to see we won. So Lowell took out Mientkiewicz at 1st after getting Cano at 2nd? Tommorrow he'll get the left side of the infield. Bullpen was good. Win the series tomorrow.

Are you serious? Tell that to Tony C. I know he didn't have a helmet on, but have some f***ing decency.

What happened to Mientkiewicz was clearly an accident. Lowell couldn't have done anything about that. If you wanna blame someone, blame Jeter for making a s***** throw.

Besides, between A-Rod going into Pedroia and Proctor last night, if there was any retaliation by you guys on Lowell there would have been hell to pay, courtesy of the Red Sox. You guys started it. A-Rod started it before. YOU guys are on the provoking end. Thus, everytime we do something you don't like, THAT'S the retaliation...and it ends there. If you guys do something after that, then we get to retaliate. That's how it works.

Lowell didn't take out Mientkiewicz intentionally. Dougie's lucky that he didn't break his neck.

No class in losing, Jacko. Not even a little.

decency in baseball is a bunch of f***ing garbage. You brush a guy back or go headhunting if it is warranted. You dont tackle another player. This isnt football. And if you hit a guy in the butt or the back, it doesnt send the kind of message that a nice high and tight heater would. As far as Tony C, get over it dude. That was 30+ yrs ago. We have helmets and armpads and ankle pads and all sorts of wonderful stuff that deadens the pain you SHOULD feel if you bumrush a player on the other team. Lowell may have been pissed because he was drilled yesterday. And he may have been pissed at ARod for the multitude of dumb things he has done. But you dont take that out on a fielder who has every right to tag you out. He should have dropped to the ground and made it harder for Cano.

As far as us on the provoking end, are you watching the same games or are you too busy with the red colored rosy glasses. 3 of our guys got drilled yesterday. At what point do you let them know it is enough? Youks was hit intentionally. He didnt deserve to get drilled up where he did, but it happened. Youks did no wrong, he is a clean and he plays hard. But Lowell's crap today was punishable in the world of baseball and the yankees once again puss out when it is warranted.

And if you like history, how about the times Pedro and Schilling and nearly every other goddamn sox pitcher dusted or drilled one of our guys and we didnt retaliate. In the Torre era, we have been the targets and seem to never retaliate. We have played pansy league baseball. I hope that stops, cause as a player, I;d be sick of getting ridden off the plate without our pitchers doing the same, while watching those f***ers tee off on everything. Gotta make the other team

A: accountable- hence Lowell needed to be drilled, and in a PAINFUL location for his actions and hitting youks last night was a message to the accountability of your staff with their liberal use of the inside pitch

B:uncomfortable- the fact that we havent driven Papi off the plate yet and Manny hasnt been dusted since Roger's last stint is sad.

This team has no guts and you guys walk all over us. Time for someone to grow a pair and make sure that this s*** doesnt continue to happen and we retaliate EVERY time, not once and then cower.

LOVE THAT DIRTY WATER!

I hate to use the word revenge because it rings very hallow, but you could say we sort of evened things up a bit for what transpired in the ninth inning last night. First of all Lowell flattened Cano and it helped a run score, then rammed (accidentally) into Menky and got the guy carted off for a checkup. Hopefully, he is ok. The best was handling headhunter Proctor in the sixth and sevent innings. Five runs and a loss. That's the way to get even. We don't have to headhunt unless we are retaliating for what they try on us.

Now if we can get all the cylinders humming tomorrow and take the rubber game we can really put a hurt on the Yankees. They took us two of three in their park, we ought to take them two of three in our house.:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I can handle a loss. To be honest, I am more upset at the sheer pussitude of this team than the fact that we lost. And in terms of class, the sox showed none today. Yesterday was an equally classless game. Today, Lowell's actions deserved punishment. If that is classless, then I'll take it. I'd rather play the game the right way and protect my teammates than be classy.

Jackson' date=' you are sounding desperate.[/quote']

desperation has come and gone. The yankees are and have been dead in the water for some time. I'd just rather we lose while playing the game the right way than lose while getting beaten up in the process.

big win by the way

just beat them up every other game and slow down any momentum they may enjoy

How about stopping any momentum the Yankees may have??? We can do it by winning the rubber game tomorrow. Simple as that.

Playing the game right way...by drilling someone in the head?

Dropping your shoulder into the second baseman who is trying to tag you out then complete the DP is legit. It is well in the rules.

Arods play to try and break up the DP with his elbow/shoulder was also legit and well in the rules. It's only because its Arod vs. Boston that it got blown out.

I'm not doing any self-congratulations for our team. I'm saying that it is dejecting for other teams to know that it is VERY difficult to take 3 in a row from us. Especially so for the Yankees who need to take a lot of games from us if they are going to make up the considerable ground in between. If we win tomorrow then the series is a net +1 in the standings. The point is to keep series in the +1/-1 area rather than -3.

"even the guy who can't think said something" Vince Vaughn, Anchorman.

Are you kidding me? Albert Belle anyone? ARod's play was not within the rules and he should have been retaliated on. But at least ARod was near the base and was in a slide. Lowell just stopped, thought about it and bumrushed Cano. I would think that the runner at 1st would have been called out regardless.

Jacko, what Lowell did trying to break up the DP doesn't call for getting a pitch thrown at his head. It just doesn't. That is upping the ante. Drop the psuedo-tough guy crap and think straight. Does he deserve a pitch to the ribs? Probably. You rarely see guys take that tactic in trying to bust up the throw, and that is all he was trying to do. But unless the intent is to injure and do serious harm, the retaliation shouldn't have the potential to do that.

And that is why I think you are losing without class. Lowell wasn't trying to hurt anyone, but you want his career threatened. What a joke? You keep tossing around throwing at peoples' head like it is no big deal. All it takes is one time, just one, where the guy doesn't see it right and doesn't react fast enough and then a season or career is lost. That's why you don't see balls headed for the head that often. Sure, high and tight happens, but not many of them are right in the earhole. If you really think that s*** needs to come back into the game, then my estimation of you has completely dropped. In the end, it's just a f***ing game, quit wishing bodily harm on those you can't beat.

I'd say the same thing but Tim Wakefield looks worse.

This rotation does not look as good as advertised

Aaaand you're a f***ing idiot.

Except that A-Rod was on the way up and Pedroia had already let go of the ball....then sure, he was trying to break up the DP.

Jacko, get over it. The only thing Lowell did today that was, in your view, "wrong," was when he flattened Cano. He didn't tackle Cano. He put a shoulder into him and Cano fell. Big whoop.

It's looking more and more like the only reason you want your pitchers to throw at our batters is because it will somehow compensate for the Yankees getting cum facialed by the Sox this year.

See ORS's post. That's basically what I have to say. Spare yourself some trouble and just respond to his post, lol...I'll take it as a response to mine as well.

Not only are the Yankees going to take the series against us but they are going to get life back. Anyone who thought the Yankees were too far behind are foolish.

Can't take anything for granted. Especially since the Yanks find a way to win the division every season.

Lowell is our best defensive player IMHO and right now is the most productive hitter with the most pop (thus far) on our team.

Pedroia and Crisp have been much better defensively so far this year.

Messages dont get sent as well as they used to ORS. And I would think that your team has stepped over the line for far too long without payback that it is warranted. And in baseball, you wholly accept that the step into the batters box may be the last step you ever take. If you werent willing to accept that, you never would have laced them up. I've had my bell rung a few times and have rung my share of bells. I liked hitting people in the ribs when I thought they crossed the line and I am not ashamed to say that I have headhunted 3 times in my career. Missed once, got the top of the helmet the other and nailed the last kid between the shoulderblades. He went down in a heap. It isnt macho crap. It is baseball. I have never started anything in my career. Never got mad and drilled someone intentionally. Never brushed someone back for the purpose of being an *******. But if someone started something, I finished it. That is how it should be.

this pedroia kid is unreal right now. I'll admit I was dead wrong on nearly everything this offseason. My prediction IQ is below adam's.
