If I'm ever in NY, I'll take you up on it. I can give as good as I get.

Of course, that might not go over well in a group of "I've got balls because we outnumber you" tough guys.

Nah, they won't heckle you that badly. You would be a guest of mine, and therefore, exempt from it. I, however, would be heckled for bringing a Sox fan to the game. Actually, the Sox fans who give back as well as they get are the ones we respect.

Douchebag.
Whoa, calm down buddy. My post was dripping with sarcasm. Even though they did do something to provoke it in all likelihood, it is uncalled for.

Stop being so touchy.

They did nothing to provoke it other than wearing Red Sox apparrel. I was there, and will be there again on Wednesday.

Look, you guys miss the big picture. After it is all done, the ringleaders [myself, Larry, etc.], usually shake hands with the guy(s) and tell them they are good sports. They usually laugh and say that they give it to us worse up in Fenway.

You guys might understand that if you actually went to more than a game or two a year.

This last comment is attributed to all the idiots and losers who have posted in this thread.

Fair enough. Usually that kind of treatment is reserved for obnoxious fans, which is why I figured they brought it on themselves for a reason other than wearing a jersey. I was sitting right near an ******* yesterday who consistently was taunting the fans by yelling at the Yankee players. People who start taunting Yankee players at the Stadium are asking to be targets, and don't deserve sympathy.

The gayest thing in that video was that the whole section knew the song... what do they rehearse before the game?... That's pretty low in my book...

I remember this year when I went to a Sox/Yanks game in NY... it was pretty bad... there had to be at least 20+ fights (that I could see)... and I got a beer thrown at me but I was sitting down and it flew over my head and hit a baby in the face... it was terrible...

...was the guy standing in front of the kids who, at the end of the clip, keeps giving them the pickle-smoocher motion and seems to be pretty damn experienced at it...in fact he looks like he really enjoys being on the giving side of that equation.

That's Homo Larry. You should have seen what he used to do with a banana in the bleachers. There are kids here, so I won't get into it.

As for the song, I'm not sure who came up with the lyrics, but it's been around for years. After hearing in between the top of the sixth and bottom of the sixth every single game, you pick up the lyrics. Same goes for roll call, horse's ass, friend of mine, and gang bang chants. You hear them enough, you learn the lyrics.

Believe it or not, the bleachers are much more family friendly, if you take the language out. Since alcohol was banned in the bleachers, things have quieted down a lot.

Before that, the bleachers were not a good place at all for the opposing fans to come to. Nearly every fight that occurs is alcohol-fueled.

I've sat in the bleachers at the Stadium for 4 Sox/Yanks games over the past few years...and I've gotta say, some of the Creatures are extremely amusing. It's a great experience out there. I wore all of my Sox gear, and I was ready to be ripped on. And I was ready to give it right back. As a Sox fan, I expect to be heckled, I expect to be ridiculed...I don't deserve drinks thrown at me (which only happened once). I appreciate the guys who know baseball and can dish it out at me, and can respect it when I come back at them. There are, however, the *******s that will just go with the "Derak Jetuh best shawtstop in baseball...26 ringsss" arguements to anything you say, and those are the guys who have no business saying anything, but I welcome guys who know their stuff to make a run at me.

The other thing I've gotta say...and this isn't just at at the Stadium, it applies to Fenway and anywhere else...is use some discretion when you decide what to say. I've been to countless sporting events where guys are dropping F's and saying sexual stuff around 8 and 9 year old little girls...that's just unacceptable. All in all, dish it out, take it, have fun, but consider your sorroundings.

Two things I don't appreciate when I attend a game...

First, as you mention above, the indiscretion, which is often fueled by alcohol, but sometimes needs no fuel at all as some fans are a-holes. I got tix from a friend to a Yanks-Toronto game in the toilet 2 yrs ago. We took our kids and were sitting in Section 275 or 285...along the 1st base line. Wore no MLB-related apparel at all. A Yankee fan hears my buddy's Boston accent, asks if he's from Boston, to which my buddy says yes, and stands up pointing to him and says "Red Sox fan, Red Sox fan" then turns to his kid and says "did you know your Dad is a faggot?". Wonderful.

The other thing is getting physical, especially when its only being done because a certain individual is backed by a sea of fans. It's supposed to be entertainment, not life or death. Those who treat it as more usually have no life. No need for it, and I've seen it in Fenway, in Yankee Stadium, in MSG, in the Hartford Civic Center (Boston v. Hartford back in the day).

Dish it, take it, and enjoy it, but let everyone else enjoy the game too.
