Does anyone know how the grading system works on soxprospects.com? Last year was easy because it was either an A, B, or a C, but i dont understand how it works now with the two numbers.

It's 1-10. 1 probably doesn't find its way on there, but 7 is an average pitcher, 8 is above average, 9 is ace potential and 10 is hall of fame potential player. Hitters, 7 is solid, 8 is above average... you get the picture. All hitters are different, but when you take what kind of game into account... yeah. not very complicated.

Oh' date=' yes. I just checked it out. 8-10 is a range. So essentially, they predict Ellsbury will be an above average [b']batter[/b] with the potential to be a hall of famer.

I got you covered.

Oh s***. Well, haha, the thing is, I was originally planning to use Clay Buchholz but I forgot how to spell his last name so I just changed the name to Ellsbury, lol. I was too lazy to go to soxprospects to look it up, and subsequently, I forgot to change the pitcher to batter

the first number, 8 in ellsbury's case, is what they would be if they were called up right now. The second number, 10 for ells, is an indicator of their ceiling. Buchholz has 10 for the second number, cuz they feel he has hall of fame (possible) potential
