Lets just keep up racking the Ws while the Yankees are down. Just flat out dreading one of their hot streaks they can pull off at anytime with every supporting member playing like an all-star. Tonight Schilling looks to continue his good season, now facing the Athletics. With John Smoltz getting an extension that could be for 2 years. Schill inches closer to one of his own with each quality start. The offense has been clicking of late. Heres hoping it continues against Joe Blanton who has handled the Sox well in his 2 career starts. Sidenote: Manny Ramirez is just 2 hits away from his 1000th as a Red Sox.

Schilling aims to shut down A's

Oakland (12-13) at Boston (16-8), Tuesday, 7:05 p.m. ET

The third time was already a charm. Now it's time to see what the fourth has in store.

Curt Schilling looks to keep his winning ways going Tuesday against the Athletics, zeroing in on his fourth victory of the young season. After a rough outing against New York on April 20, when Schilling gave up five runs to the Yankees, the right-hander came back to pitch seven innings of five-hit baseball against the Orioles on Wednesday.

A proven workhorse in the past, Schilling keeps piling up innings as he heads into Tuesday's start. He's pitched seven innings or more in his last four outings. The Athletics counter Schilling and the Red Sox with Joe Blanton. The right-hander ran into some tough luck against the Mariners on Wednesday, when he pitched a six-hitter but came away with a loss.

Pitching matchup

BOS: RHP Curt Schilling (3-1, 3.27 ERA)

Schilling aims for his fourth win in his start against the Athletics. In his last outing, Schilling gave up one run on five hits over seven innings against Baltimore. The right-hander has been tough on the Athletics in the past, owning a 3-3 record and 3.75 ERA against them in 11 career games.

OAK: RHP Joe Blanton (2-1, 3.55 ERA)

Blanton is coming off of a tough six-hit game against the Mariners in which he came away the loser. Blanton struck out six and walked two in the game, giving up solo homers to Jose Guillen and Kenji Johjima.

Player to watch

Oakland catcher Jason Kendall has a lot of experience hitting against Schilling. In 65 career at-bats against the right-hander, Kendall has hit .292 with three homers and four doubles. Look for Kendall to be a pesky hitter against Schilling.

ORS, need to get going for work, could you supply the mojo pic? Thanks if you can

Youk has hit in all but 7 of the Sox games this season, with 8 multihit games (two of them three-hit games), and has drawn at least one walk in 7 of the last 8. Look for him to have a good series.

Just one minute ago I fully supported the legalization of marijuana.

After reading this post, I'm convinced that you are the poster boy for the Drug War, and I can never again offer my support to your cause.

The gov't needs to wake the f*** up and make pot legal. Really, they need to legalize all drugs. I hate f***ing politicians. Ban guns...? Are you f***ing crazy? Censorship... I love how our Gov't doesn't care about going directly against the f***ing constitution. Gov'ts should fear their people, not the other way around.

The war on drugs is a f***ing joke.

How the f*** can the Gov't think they can regulate what we put in our own f***ing bodies. The f***ing Consitiution itself protects those freedoms. They think they can make laws to protect the common people and majority... THE f***ing constitution was created to protect just the f***ing opposite, to protect the minority who wanted to do things that might seem rediculous, stupid, outragous, bad for society, what ever the f*** you want to call it. Thats what the f***ing Constitution was created to protect and the same f***ing ******** politicians are using it to shut em up and "protect" the common good and people... The f***ing common good doesn't f***ing need to be protected.

Crespoblow, what the f*** gives you, or the Gov't the right to tell me what I can and can't do to myself? ... That was just playing devils advocate, I don't have a problem with you. But I'm trying to make a point. Freedom isn't about protecting the common. It's about protecting those who piss off the Gov't, common, etc. You can't honestly tell me there is a legit reason to outlaw drugs, that is in accordance to the constitution. The gov't is getting awefully comfortably tredding on our freedoms. If drugs were legalized the problem would got down. The black market would dissapear. Crime would go down because you have less shady deals, drug traffic, etc. Deaths would decline as people would be more willing to go to hospitals and clinics as they won't have to fear prosecution. Let people figure it out on their own. Instead of outlawing something which, according to the consitution and freedom itself should be perfectly legal, teach our youth about the actual dangers of drugs and have plenty of rehab centers.

And I just don't get why pot is illegal. There hasn't been a single person who died from it. Not one. Yet thousands die from alcohol poisoning each year. And pot is proven to be useful as a pain reliever, etc. Where's the problem?
