damon is banged up to the point of needing a day or two off a week, yet Sox fans give s*** to the FO for not resigning him at 12m a year? That move is looking better and better REGARDLESS of Coco's performance. Damon looks highly average right now, or at best often injured.

Settle down Michael Kay, that ball had plenty of loft.

EDIT: "He had a good jump and never gave up"... (Leiter)

Are we commending players for not giving up on flyballs that are still in the air.

It's neat to see Manny discussing release points with Lugo. I think he's talking about the difference between the slider and the sinker.

Why you smilin' Manny? Get your ass back in the dugout. He's really s***** this season.

Meh, give him a break. He's still an intimidating force up there and puts up good ABs. He'll be fine.

I LOVE to see Manny enjoying the game. He's one of the few guys who is able to smile after an out or error.

He's a great guy, good attitude, I just wish he could get his game together. I'm sure by May he'll start doing his normal Manny magic.

I just don't like how Wang doesn't miss bats. He can't get an out on his own, which leaves a whole lot up to chance. Granted, he'd be a lot worse if he consistantly gave up flyballs instead of GBs, but I just don't see how he can be categorized as an ace on a team with a 195m roster.

He isnt a true ace. But for us he is. You put him on a team with a crappy offense and he will be a .500 pitcher. But this is what Wang does. He hardly puts you out of reach and when he is on, he can go the whole way. For us, a guy who can give over 200 innings and a sub 4 ERA is an ace. He will win a ton of games. Put him in Minny and he isnt.

That seems in stark contrast to our discussions during the pre/offseason when people were doing pitcher vs. pitcher comparisons and most Yankee fans around here tried to argue that he was EASILY the best pitcher on either the Sox or Yankees, doesn't it?
