it is all about the money and he gets the most by finishing out his contract.

Arod has enough money to support his family for the next 10 generations. I really think he is going to screw NY, after the way the fans have treated him, it's rediculus how much he has been booed and it's mind boggling how NY fans can't appreciate that he is the greatest talent that has ever worn the Yankee unifom. I just hope we can shut him down for the rest of the series. Tall task.

in today's market, it would not shock me to see A-Rod get even more than he's making now

I wouldn't be shocked to see Anaheim give him $60 mil over 2 years

Posted

There would be no reason to come to Boston though, except as the ultimate bitch slap to the Yankees organization. We would have treated him the same way. Maybe not give him curtain calls after every sucessful s***, but we'd be pissed for his seemingly lack of ability in the clutch.

He'd want to go to LA where they really don't care about baseball. And i dont see that happening.

when this yanks team won in 96 i found it difficult to dislike the team

they were a home grown team that i felt overachieved to beat atlanta and it was hard to find that hatred that you get with a team loaded with hi paid mercenaries

then they got giambi and mussina and broke our balls 1 july to get jeff weaver and then they got contreras from under titos nose and then they got arod and rj and pavano and all the studs at the allstar break and they got vasquez who we both wanted more than schilling and it seemed at every turn they outspent our men and landed each and every hoss available

contrary to what stick michael and his mindset had built carefully during the felons sabbatical

and they easily became hated...again...easily

i respect talent and baseball guys who work hard

i fear ny always and thats respect

i want them to lose every day painfully

thats sincere hatred and i cant help it..... so i ride with it

ive blown friends chances for hot women becuase they were yanks fans

ive gotten into physical altercations with obnoxious and out of line yank fans in fenway

on landsdown street in the bars here in town and at work

i suspect hell for me would be game 7 2003 being played from the 8th on

peteys meltdown blown chances and aaron 1-62 boones walkoff to win it

i suspect heaven would be game 7 04 with 20,000 sox fans singing sweet caroline ontop of our dugout after we finally beat these **********s in their own yard and the felon playing sinatras version of ny ny which only happens with a yanks win

the old prick even left the lites on for us which was very classy

Schill, think that might work? Or might it get him really pumped to stick it to us? I have never really figured out if A-Rod was mentally tough or not. You saw how Josh went after Vlad of the Angels, though I don't think he wanted to hit him. Chances are that Beck will pitch A-Rod very tight tomorrow, and carefully as well. The guy is on fire.

Whats a couple million of dollars to him? He has millions and millions of dollars, money isn't the issue. I still think he'll be a Yank next year but it's not because the money

Hoke' date=' you sure you don't want to take that back???? If we had A-Rod we would win the East in a walk.[/quote']

If we had the A-rod of this month, whos tearing s*** up, ya your right. But I would be afraid of him melting down in Boston, like he has before in NY. And the fans and media are worse here then in NY. I dont think hed fit in here real well either, but i wouldnt complain if we got him since he is one of the top 5 players in the game today.

I don't understand, every HR (or most) that I see him hit are over or on the outside part of the plate, when the book on him is up and in, Id like to see some cheese high n in from Beckett tomorow, he seems to be extending waay too often and not getting jammed whatsoever. I don't know if I recall this right, but against the Guardians (with the walkoff) the ABs before his homer he was getting pitched mostly in and the Tribe had some success using that strategy.

Think about it, though. Boston is tough on you, but only if you aren't performing. Arod puts up phenominal numbers year after year after year. Manny gets away with just about anything because he's a rock solid .300/35/120 every year - without being Mr. Clutch. Arod would be fine here because he'd do the same thing.

It's all moot, though. I think he leaves, to some place like St Louis where they politely clap when you hit into the GIDP, but not here.

Yeah. That's pretty bad for a 3B. Those types of guys are all over the waiver wire.

I know man. .290BA, 35HR, 121 RBI, 90 BB, 15 SB, .392 OBp for an off-year. Thats absolutely terrible.....

Come on. Those are great great numbers. For an off-year, thats insane. Thats most guys career year. Give me a break.

I'm pretty sure the Chicago Cubs need a SS, I'm pretty sure they have lots of money and if they don't win it this year they're going to be spending again next year. My bet is the cubbies.

I agree that A-Rod will get knocked on his ass if the chance arises. First, it can be stated--honestly--that it is just retaliation for Youkilis getting hit today. Second, everyone else in the league would understand and be grateful.

The situation doesn't come up very often for A-Rod though. I think you need to be up by a run or two, he needs to be up with at least one out (preferably two), and there can't be anyone on base. I have NO problem if Beckett throws one or two up and in to set up his curveball. I think Dice-K would be even more innocent if he were to 'let one slip'.

I'm 99% sure that A-Rod wouldn't come to the Red Sox. He would get his jab at the Yankees by leaving them despite their "love" for him, but he wouldn't go to Boston. Only scumbag stars go from one organization to the other.

the funny thing is that I don't hear many yankee fans disagreeing about this. They say "he won't leave, he's doing well", we say "yeah, but you guys drove him into the dirt and treated him like he was a member of the Red Sox. Why would he want to stay?" and they are silent.

If A-Rod stays there he's even more soulless than we thought. If he leaves then he backs up what most honest critics say: he's a smart, self-aware guy who managed to convince himself that clutch hitting exists. I think the tear he is on right now is proof enough that clutch hitting doesn't necessarily exist. A-Rod isn't suddenly a good clutch hitter, he's suddenly an ungodly hitter every at bat. The guy is raking for real right now and it is imperative that he gets knocked on his ass.

They'll knock Manny down if we put Rodriguez on his ass...not because Ramirez is swinging the bat extremely well, but because after someone throws up and in on Manny, he's virtually useless. You talk about a guy who thrives on feeling at home in the box, it's Planet ManRam. We should put up 6 or 7 runs tomorrow and Sunday against two freaking double-A, triple-A at BEST starters...there's no need to try to gain an upper-hand on Rodriguez...throw him high heat and see if he can handle it, if he can, so be it. The key is Beckett keeping his control and getting the guys ahead of Rodriguez...solo and 2 run shots from him won't win the game tomorrow or Sunday, I don't think.

On the post game show it was mentioned that the last time the Red Sox came back from a 4 run deficit against the Yankees after 7 innings was 1968. That's very surprising.

If Rivera can't shape up, the Yankees are going nowhere, no matter what Arod and Co. do.

I can't believe that Rivera has cost us TWO gimme wins in the first 15 games. Wow.

YYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, Yankee fans, who'd you rather have as your closer right NOW?

Farnsworth. LOL!

They blow a six run lead, and the day before they come back from a 4 run deficit. Such is baseball.

His location is WAY OFF. That's what is worrisome. I can't believe that the biggest concern in the bullpen is Rivera. I never thought I would say that. Oh well.

Crunch, try 1947 for someone who had despised the Yankees for what seems a lifetime, yet I was rooting for them to win in 1996 since they hadn't won a title in 18 years and I kind of wanted to see Joe Torre finally win something. That didn't last too long and I can assure you I will never ever ever ever root for the Yankeess to ever win anything again.

That said, though, you have to respect that team. Whether they are mercenaries or home grown products, they are a team that you have to reckon with and you diss them at your own peril. I still think the Red Sox have going to have to win one more World Series Title to finally get that Yankee bone from our throats once and for all.
