the only worry is that Moose typically struggles in his next start after throwing more than 7 innings.

I believe that his next start is in Colorado so that might have the setup for a poor outing, but we'll see.

As for the game, not too much went wrong tonight. Moose was solid. The offense showed some power tonight. Bruney looked pretty good, and Torre probably had a quick hook with him. The Yanks are over .500 for the first time since they were 8-7 and in the middle of getting swept in Boston.

Whether he settles down or not, I think we're going to be seeing the D-Backs middle relief quite soon.

EDIT: Ugh...Jeter swinging at a first pitch curveball that was well below the knees really hurt this inning in my opinion.

well. Pettitte deflects a hit to Cano with his pitching hand. Got out of the inning' date=' but that is a worry nonetheless.[/quote']

We'll find out soon enough I guess. I'll always remember when Clemens did that on opening day in 2002 against the Orioles and then he completely lost effectiveness. Obviously that wasn't the worst thing that could have happened, but that instance is what always comes to mind when a pitcher sticks out his barehand for no reason.

lol at Scott Hairston. That Rodriguez guy is really good. They gave him an RBI, so that's 68. Ugh...another poor AB for Posada from the right side, although I can't really get mad at him.

How's Pettitte's stuff today? I'm following online at work but it seems like he's battling..

I missed the top of the first. He seemed to struggle in the second, but he's been relatively sharp in the third and fourth innings. To me, Pettitte never seems to have great stuff, but he never seems to give up a lot either.

Pettitte is a guy who isnt afraid to come inside. Which keeps the hitters honest and he has impeccable control with his 4 seamer. He'll sit outside and low then come up with the cutter and throw the curve or changeup to change the pace.

Yeah, I agree. What I was kind of trying to say is that he's not going to go out there and "wow" you, but he almost always gets the job done.

In other news' date=' Milwaukee up on Detroit 4-0 in the 5th and the Cubs all over Seattle in the first 3-0.[/quote']

Unfortunately, if they're competing for the wild card against a team from the central, it will probably be Cleveland and not Detroit.
