Moose's ball turns into a watermelon after 75+ pitches. Hunter hit a long double right before the homer.

It was a thing of beauty. Hopefully Hunter's not standing where he hit the ball for 81 games next year.

Though his strained hamstring didn't cause him to miss any games for the Yankees, Alex Rodriguez is considering sitting out the All-Star Game next week.

"I told the guys I'll let them know Saturday ... but if I feel like this, probably not," Rodriguez said when asked if he would play. As expected, A-Rod is DHing Wednesday against the Twins.

Lets say this happens. I would assume Lowell would be bumped up to being the starting 3rd baseman, and Youk possibly taking Lowell's spot in the reserves?

Igawa has some pretty good stuff, and those of you who are watching the game have probably noticed that. The main problem, in my opinion, is that he lives up in the zone. On top of that, he seems to get beat on his off-speed stuff more than he should, and that bothers me.

Unfortunately for the Yankees, the problem with this game is that the Twins bullpen is so much better than the Yankees, and the game will likely be decided by the bullpens.

Igawa has very little control right now. He doesn't even throw that many good strikes, if you will. He'll completely miss location but it'll still be a strike. He's got a lot to change if he wants to be even a little successful in the bigs.

All true. Although there are many things I dislike about him, the one thing I do like is his ability to throw the fastball inside. When he does that consistently he seems to have much more success than usual. His ability to do that is certainly something to build off. With that being said, I really hope I don't see him start the fifth.

EDIT: I try not to get on Torre too much, but the fact that he stacks three straight lefties in the order (Matsui, Abreu, and Cano), really makes it easy for the opposing manager.

EDIT 2: Actually, my knock on Torre is unfair. I forgot that Posada is hitting between Matsui and Abreu.

good stuff is worth nothing if you dont have controle/location, id rather take a pitcher with excelent controle/location than someone with all the good stuff but cant controle it

If Igawa can start to find his location he'd be a not bad pitcher

Not once did I say he was a good pitcher. The only thing I said was that there are some good things to work with.

By the way, SOTK's, the 0-2 pitch to Morneau was a good example of what we were saying. High slider, a strike, but a poor pitch.

Yeah, I agree with you there.

Reyes is pitching so well for the Twins right now. Before long they're going to be into the Neshek, Rincon, and Nathan part of the game, so the Reyes is doing a fantastic job bridging the gap. The Twins have Mauer, Cuddyer, and Morneau coming up next inning...and they're probably going to be facing Vizcaino.
