I love how pitchers have learned that Cano approaches hitting with the same level of patience as Sally Struthers in a room full of pizzas. Hollywood is too "good" to lay off, so I expect his troubles to continue.

Nice pick from Beltre.

edit - ORS has a point, Cano needs to adjust because it seems the pitchers have adjusted to him.

Are they giving him anything to hit? Has he adjusted? Thank you. I'll change my mind when he shows some restraint.

he is getting a good amount of pitches to hit. He is missing them and then chasing with 2 strikes. This is how he started last yr too, then he came on at the end.

Washburn's been pretty good. Reminiscent of the '02 playoffs' date=' LOL.[/quote']

We arent working the count, we arent fighting back, we have no life tonight. Yankee fans should be reimbursed the hours they spent staying up to watch this awful effort.

It's OK. Phil Hughes is gonna post a 173 ERA+ for you guys when he comes back.

f***ing Mariners, why steal there?

Yes, fire Joe for the offense sucking.

His pitching changes worked out...

his pitching changes ate up the pen for 3 innings when the starting pitcher was pitching serviceably. If we are down by a few, I dont mind seeing the starter get burned a little. Now, Proctor went 2 innings so he is spent for pretty much the rest of the series. And we used Bruney, so chances are he isnt getting used tonight. So if DeSalvo has a slim lead, we'll have to deal with the s***** part of the pen again.

Get used to it Jacko. The Yankees Starting rotation consist of a bunch of 6 inning guys, with Wang the only one likely to go more the 6th on a kind of regular basis. Protctor plays in more games then most of the Yankees starting lineup. He will likely suffer from arm issues at some point this season. He can only carry Torre's ass for so long. You guys will probably end up paying an arm and a leg for some BP relief around the TDL.

The Yankees lineup while potent is getting pretty old. Abreu, Giambi, and Damon are out or either leaving their prime. Arod has cooled significantly since his torrid start. I don't think the offense is going to quite as good as people expected. Don't get me wrong they will club the hell out of the ball, but it won't carry them without pitching.

So we don't lose ground again. Fair enough. Need to catch up on Lost, and body simply doesn't recover like it used to after hard partying. We need to Sox to lose a few to make up some of this ground.

You best catch up on Lost. 2 more episodes.

DeSalvo was good again tonight. He wont be confused with a future ace, but he keeps his pitch count low and has the hitters off balance all night for a second night in a row. It is pretty interesting that a guy like Rasner, who started the yr in our rotation and pitched a few games last season, gets a short leash, yet this rookie kid who is green to the majors gets through 7 in one and into the 7th in another.
