4-1. Not too bad. But really' date=' a poor play from ARod and 2 really poor plays from Abreu hurt a lot.[/quote']

dont forget s***** pitching by wang

No' date=' he can't roll that DP any time he needs it. He can, however, throw sinker after sinker trying to get the ground ball, which he does about 60% of the time. Where it goes after hitting the bat is decided by fortune.[/quote']

And right there is the fatal flaw in the Yankees pitching rotation. People wonder why the Yankees have struggled in the playoffs in the years following 2003...it's pretty simple in my opinion. They simply do not have enough strikeout pitchers. That might change with Clemens and Hughes, but it remains to be seen. I'm a Yankee fan, but there is a reason why the Red Sox rotation is and will be better than the Yankees rotation throughout the entire season...they strike people out and don't rely on "fortune".

pretty true, when you give up a lot of hits like Wang does and relies more on defense and luck then your going to get burned at different times. Sure there are nights where the sinker works and balls are being hit at infielders and he'll have some good games but at the same time when you put a lot of balls into play and only strike out 3-4 batters a game your asking for trouble.

4.52 before this game

That's better than I thought, but it'll be quite a bit higher after today. I guess the have probably have given up a lot of unearned runs.

Agree, I was very surprised to see that this season... the Yankees as a team are 2nd to last in Ks

Anyways, just came home. Watching the "walkoff sox" games they sometimes show on nesn, saw the score 14-2. I was figuring rasner but it was last year's ace Wang. It would be big if the Sox could squeak out a W to pull forward another game

As 700 would say Im loving this Johnson for Vizcaino trade :) So I see his ERA is up to 7.50 now?

even with a 8 run lead in the 8 inning?

I posted that when it was 4-1.

Jacko? Where'd you run off to? You haven't answered my question about Abreu's defense.

this might be the most satisfying night of the season for me except for the night when we bashed 4 homers in a row completing the sweep of the Yanks

This is stupid. Who exactly was their strikeout pitcher in 1996? 1998? 1999?
