Farnsworthless. Lovin' it.

Our best middle relievers are Henn and Bruney. I'd trust Proctor too once they suture his arm back on. The other guys are hit or miss.

As for the hit, Farns just threw one hell of a curve.

Wow' date=' the Yankees still have the lead...[/quote']

Farns did what he is supposed to do. He pitched off his heater. He gets in trouble when he gets behind in counts while trying to be cute with the off speed stuff. His fastball is hittable when he has to come over the plate with it.

The bullpen must really hate Pettitte or something. I guess that's what he gets for defending Pavano.

I was listening to the postgame and Torre said he chose Vizcaino over Bruney because the guys at the bottom of the order hit fastballs better than sinkers. What he didnt anticipate is that if you have a guy with no clue where the strike zone is throw sinkers in a 1 run game, you are setting yourself up to fail. Bruney has earned the right to setup. Vizcaino not yet (maybe not ever if he continues to throw balls).

That's not good on the 'pen' date=' especially with the workload they've already accumulated. Not to mention it's game 2 of a DH.[/quote']

they had a day off yesterday and Myer actually ate some innings 2 days ago. The pen is rested well. We have the depth to handle something like this. Our problem comes about when we get a 4IP performance two or three days in a row and you mix in a few extra inning games.

Oh, for some reason I thought the rained out game was Tuesday. My bad.

You have the Mariners in the Bronx tomorrow, right?

yes we do. The M's are hitting well right now, so that doesnt bode well for Bucky.

He used to sit in the high 90s. When he started, he was getting tattoed even though he was hitting 100, but he couldnt control it. When all is going right now, he sits 95-96 and locates. But he is prone to getting overworked and you can tell. His heater drops to around 90-91 and he gets shelled.

that should seal it. 5-2. Jeter has now hit in 59 of the last 63 games he has played in. And 2 of those games, he never registered an official AB (one game with a HBP and 3BB and another as a PH he was HBP).

Now youre giving excuses and saying the pen is well rested... regardless theyve been the most overused pen in baseball?

You keep saying the Yankees have depth to handle this, yea Im not seeing this "great depth" displaying good results

why's that?

He looks like one. Beaning Sosa was just the icing on the cake.

I also think I saw him blow snot onto his uniform. One of the few drawbacks of YES HD.

they are the most overused pen in the majors. But most bullpen pitchers are not like Ron Villone, who will completely lose it altogether if he is worked too hard. Most guys recover with a few days off. Granted, you wear a guy down and he could be injured or his recovery time needed will lengthen. I dont think we are at that point yet. Regardless, the middle relief has not been all that bad even with the workload. And to think that Mariano, Vizcaino, Farns, and Proctor will have 5+ ERAs this yr is ludicrous. One may finish the yr that way, but their career predict that all of them will be at or well below (Mo) a 4-4.5ERA. And you can say the same thing about Henn as well in the opposite direction. The wild card has been Bruney. Ever since we got him, he has been very dominating.
