There seems so be so many arms in the bullpen this up coming season... Who's gonna get the job? What do you think the Bullpen will looks like on Opening Day?

Here are the Potential RPs:

Breslow

Debarr

Delcarmen

DiNardo

Donnelly

Gabbard

Hansack

Hansen

Lester

Lopez

E. Martinez

Okajima

D. Pauley

Pineiro

Romero

Snyder

Tavarez

Timlin

(I'm guessing to pick 6 arms for the 'pen with 19 fielders/SPs... you can count the closer too if you would like)

That's all the RPs on the 40-Man Roster, so I suspect that they will pick from these guys to patrol the bullpen...

I forgot my picks...

1.Timlin

2.Lester

3.Donnelly(or maybe Tavarez, idk)

4.Pineiro(closer...maybe?)

5.Hansen

6.Delcarmen

the major league contracts make it easier.

1. Schilling

2. Matsuzaka

3. Papelbon

4. Beckett

5. Wakefield

6. Okajima

7. Romero

8. Donnelly

9. Timlin

10. Pineiro

11. Tavares

if the sox go with 11 pitchers, those will be them breaking camp as all have MLB contract. Unless the sox feel like releasing one of the above, this will be how it is.

There will be a few guys in that bullpen who currently don't have major league contracts. Don't limit the discussion to guys. Romero will likely be out of the picture, and its hard to imagine Hansen being out of it too. There is something to be said for Delcarmen, Breslow and Lopez too. Maybe Gabbard will compete for a long role?

Breslow flashed signs of brilliance last year; I hope he gets the opportunity to compete for a spot.
Is it possible that you might be using the term "flashes of brilliance" a little loosely?

I think everybody has a shot, they can always cut guys, even though they wouldnt want to... I doubt most of the pitchers are entering ST thinking to themselves that they'll be in AAA next season...

there is a big difference between who i'd want and who will be in the pen. as mentioned, the major league contracts play a big role as to who is on the roster. I'd like to see this to start the year:

LR: Tavares

MR: MDC

MR: Breslow

MR: Okajima

SU: Donnelly

SU: Timlin

CL: Piniero

I think it will be:

LR: Romero

LR: Tavares

MR: MDC

MR: Okajima

SU: Donnelly

SU: Timlin

CL: Piniero

TGOV's Picks

1.Timlin

2.Lester

3.Donnelly(or maybe Tavarez, idk)

4.Pineiro(closer...maybe?)

5.Hansen

6.Delcarmen

I highly doubt Lester will be in the pen. He is very uncomfortable in the pen, and i know that his future in unknown.

My picks:

LR: Tavarez

MR: Donnelly

MR: Romero

MR: Okijima

MR: Delcarmen

SU: Timlin

CL: Pineiro

basically looks like everyone elses, but thats waht i think it will turn out to be.
