Jackson, Scaf, Crespo, those guys are from Dodger Blues and they are only here to cause trouble and bother all of us. They are not real baseball people and know very little about their own team. Case in point. I just back from a barbeque (I live in Calif) and some of the people there were my old students. They got two old yearbooks out and there it was in black and white, those two quotes that Fast Freddie uses. They were mine from 23 years ago. What an infuriating form of flattery but they don't mean it as such. The only way is to ignore them and not comment on any post they write. Believe me, they don't know diddly s*** about baseball. Fred, you are making this a bigger deal than it should be. Regardless of what you think, I have been talking about baseball, and you haven't.

 

I honestly think Wheeler is more valuable than Lidge. Whether or not I am from another website should have no bearing on my opinion of Wheeler.

Rdsx, as much as I have deep reservations about Wily Mo Pena in general, you do make a very valid point. Crisp right now has more value than Pena does, and Wily can play CF for a year and play it better than he does left or right. I think the Astros would want a guy who could do more than just slug and Crisp has more upside. Besides, barring unforseen circumstances like stupidity on the FO' s part we have Jacoby Ellsbury nearly ready to take over in CF for the next dozen years. Suppose we get Lidge to close and Pena does have a decent year with good power and improved fielding and clutch hitting? It then would be possible to entertain trading Manny and installing WMP in left in 2008 with JE in center. Might work.
