Let me spell it out for you: If the Sox don't want Manny (or Manny wants out, same thing), and they are looking for a team that can take on his salary, then they shouldn't be asking for the moon in return. LA would be giving up a power pitcher who started the ASG last year, and a guy who was a leader in the ROY choices for most of the season. LA also picks up Manny's huge contract. I'd say that's a pretty good deal for Boston if they are trying to deal Manny. Now, if the Red Sox agreed to pay part of that salary, then LA would probably add more to the deal.
