It would allow you to get equal value, and then you even have an empty spot to sign a Soriano or a Lee. I still say no though. I personally value clutchness very highly. Arod is allergic to that stuff.

The only way it ever happens is in a 3 team deal, and even then it'd be a bit of a stretch.

 

First of all, there aren't many teams that can afford either one of these players. Dodgers, Angels, Mets, ???

 

Second, A-Rod's postseason struggles probably make him a bad fit in Boston since it's also a very intense market and he's proven that he doesn't have what it takes to stand up to the pressure in New York.

 

Third, quite a few Sox players have bashed the hell out of A-Rod in the media, and he's a self-proclaimed sensative guy with a no trade clause. Why would he come to Boston now, especially considering he was pissed at the organization back in 2003 because of how they handled the negociations with Texas.

 

I wouldn't MIND it happening because if Manny truly wants out A-Rod is the next best thing. He's also a gold glove shortstop playing third base right now so adding him would make a lot of sense. However IMO there's no way the Yankees knowingly trade A-Rod within the division because he's that dangerous with the bat and despite his unpopularity he's an amazing talent.

 

IF Manny is traded, I'd rather see them turn him into Miguel Tejada +.

Its just one Sox fan who posted this thread, so dont include everyone in on this. Its obvious that such a trade wouldnt happen. Furthermore, I shudder seeing Manny as a Yankee, and shudder to find myself relying on Arod to come through with a big hit

I wouldn't trade Julian Tavarez for Alex Rodriguez. I do not want A-Rod on the team, and I could care less what numbers he puts up. He is more trouble with his stupid sensitivity to media and fans than his bat is worth. He doesn't play well when a star player could put on an epic performance. Does he deserve all the criticism he gets? No, but the way he reacts to it hinders his play. He would not function in Boston. Period.

manny for a-rod? that would be a ******** trade. are you kidding me? i thank my lucky stars everyday that the sox never got him in the first place. he's too much work. A-rod is all about himself. which won't fly too well here in boston. the fans will eat him alive. he oculdn't hack it in new york, do you really think he can hack it in boston? let's get serious. he needs to be on a team that has no other superstars. and there aren't any. i've ran downt he list with a few people and we have come up empty handed. his best bet is if bonds is done, then the giants. other than that its time for him to hang it up. he talked about retiring at 35 anyway, why not make it a few years earlier and save everyone the time and aggrivation? It would be a huge huge huge mistake to trade manny for arod. the thought alone makes me vomit in my mouth a little.... Seriously, the guy is such a liability. liek so many have mentioned above, he's waay to sensitive with the media. plus the ass hole will still stick his cleat in his mouth, night after night. i couldn't handle having to watch him play everyday. can you imagine him and tek in the same locker room??? that would be interesting. as it was he was on the opposite end of jeets.... quite simply put, he doesn't belong here, and wouldn't fit in here.

what the f*** are you guys thinking. Why do we want someone who cant guy a hit in the playoffs at all. . .than have ot play manny in them who is a proven winner.
