Not so fast. It's more like "Thank you MLBPA for not allowing ARod to reduce his contract". Theo wanted to do that deal' date=' and he was right to want to. ARod and Mags to replace Manny and the oft injured Nomar? Where do I sign up.[/quote']

True. But at same token, Manny, the player Theo tried so hard to trade... became the first World Series MVP in franchise history. For that I am thankful

The tigers looked a little too confident and glowing after their win last night. I didn't see one interview where they talked about today's game--everything was focussed on how well they did last night....let's hope they can forget about yesterday and finish the job!

ESPN Ticker... A-Clutch has been dropped again in the order, he is now batting 8th

Giambi is out of the lineup as well

 This is a demonstration of a total lack of confidence in ARod. The next step down for him is being shown the door if they lose.

Arrrrrrod... 1st AB as the #8 guy' date=' swings at 1st pitch to ground out to 3rd base. Now he commits a throwing error. If Yanks lose, not out of realm of possibility that he could be with another team.[/quote']

Except he has a no-trade clause.

ARod is such toast mentally. He'll be on suicide watch if they lose today

BTW: It's amazing how you can't tell if the Stoic Mr. Torre is winning or losing. He looks like he wants to puke.

Jeter looks very upset on the bench. The confident facade is beginning to break. I love the stat that Bonderman hasn't thrown more than 8 pitches in any inning.

and the long offseason begins today.

Im guessing one of the details will be voiding out Wright's 3rd year of his contract? I heard somewhere that NY does have that power due to him spending time on the DL in his first season

Yeah, Wright will be gone. However I think it starts at the top. I think the Yanks should dump Torre.

They should dump Torre, move A-Rod and get a dominant pitcher. RJ is not dominant, Wang is good but not dominant, and Mussina is good but he doesn't blow hitters away. They should also stop dumping the 1st round picks for 4th or 5th OF'ers like Abreu. This so-called greatest lineup ever is hampered by the fact that they don't have pitchers who can SHUT DOWN an above average offense like Detroit's consistently.

Watching this makes me happy to have the names Beckett, Papelbon, Lester (god willing), Buchholz, Bowden, Bard, Delcarmen and Hansen coming up. They're not locks, but they're the basis of an inexpensive and potentially dominant pitching team. Spend Red Sox money on the offense and you're looking at a good team.

yeah lets not keep our hopes up i am sure that is how we already think but who knows after 2004.

The Sox weren't down 7-0 in game 4 though.

100% agreed although they do have Hughes on the way. Thats our only major hope from the farm. I use to say I wouldnt trade A-Rod for anything however if the Angels would give up Lackey, Shields and Kendrick and/or Brandon Wood I would show A-Rod the door. Or to the Dodgers for Billinglsy + others I would do it also.
