Pedroia with 4 errors in 25 games. Loretta with 4 errors in 139 games. Is this comparable?

No, it isn't. It would be important to note that whatever differential that works out to over the year, Pedroia will probably get to twice that amount more balls taking hits away, so with him in the field you'll net more total outs. This is the tradeoff that justifies using youth in the field.

The 11 for 32 incorporates the 1 for 10 -- nice job killing your argument' date=' whatever it was.[/quote']

He went 4 for his first 40, with several LDs right at people. Those are starting to find holes and he's hitting around .300/.400/.500 in his last 40 ABs. Do you allow no adjustment period to a new level? The shortsightedness you display is astonishing.

Youk flirting with falling below the .280 mark. With his lack of power' date=' he's nothing special at the 1B position unless he can hit .300.[/quote']

agree ,and i remember saying as well at the start of the season he would finish the year around 270 , 280 at best for average

You are looking at the wrong rate stat. OBP tells more because it gives you the players out rate. His .280/.380 line is better than you give it credit for. That said, I'd love for the guy to spend the entire offseason in the gym so he can get his HR total up over 25.

exactly who the f*** are we ? the Marlins ?

I wish. They are closer to the postseason than we are and their rotation looks much better going into next year.

Last 34 - the ones after the first 40. Excuse my error in rounding to 40.

11 hits, 4 BB, 1 HBP, 19 TB

.326/.410/.559

EDIT: There was a HBP on 9/14 against Baltimore that didn't show up in the game logs. OBP has been corrected. And, that makes the TPA, the more important stat, 39 vs. 41 before that.

6 makes a big difference :D

Whatever makes you feel better. You had no clue about those numbers and were talking straight out of your ass.

Sorry, I might have been born at night, but I wasn't born last night. It was clear that he broke out of his slump after the first 41 plate appearances. I made that clear when I mentioned his performance since then. My only error was estimating the amount of ABs he's had since then - the total plate appearances were right on. For you to stubbornly hang on to 6 crossover ABs in order to act as though you have a clue about what you are talking about is completely comical.
