Could we get into some Cowboys talk? Tony Romo is on fire. Tony, along with Phil Rivers, have made this the year of the bench QBs. Terry Glenn did awesome also.

Did he really say that?

He said that he must have a little black in him. Who among us has thought similar things?

I really don't think it's an issue in the slightest bit. Nor should it be.

Romo's race never even occurred to me, nor should it have. If a white Broadcaster brings up race in any way it sparks a huge debate and he usually gets fired. The double standard is unbelievable.

You've never once thought that blacks are generally more athletic than whites and that's why there is more of them in professional sports? He was making a joke. He was laughing as he said it.

Nothing came of when Fisher Deberry, Air Force's head coach, suggested that they need more black athletes to compete.

Yet, Jimmy "the Greek" lost his job when he suggested that blacks were better athletes because they were bred for it during the slavery era of this country. Irvin said that his great-g-g-g-grandmother must have "pulled a stud out of the barn and took him out in the field to tend the garden". This is pretty much the same notion. One guy lost his job. He was white.

Rush Limbaugh, who was a horrible idea as a football analyst, lost his job for saying that Donovan MacNabb only got all of the attention he gets because he is black. Irvin said the exact same thing, except this time it was the player only getting attention because he was white, about Chris Hovan. One guy lost his job. He was white. And, this was at the same network.

Here's a racial comment for you, but it's true. If Michael Irvin is white, he no longer works for ESPN.

So whats the talk is Denver? is Cutler really taking over?

I really have no idea, to be honest. I haven't seen anything to officially suggest that Jake won't be starter, but the same could be said about him starting -- the Broncos have been pretty quiet on the issue, as far as I know. Everyone -- literally, everyone -- is calling for Jake's head. The already small group of Jake's supporters, which I'm a proud member of, is dwindling. I love Jake. I think he's far from being the only problem on this team. The defensive coordinator, Larry Coyer, is a joke. He knows how to make one adjustment, and that's pulling up and using his counter productive method for protecting the score midway through the third quarter. The offensive line is banged up, leading to some inconsistencies in the running game. Rod Smith has lost about two steps and is only capable of getting open against the zone and his hands are missing in action. We don't have the pass catching Tight Ends that Shanahan's system relies on.

We need a stud RB. I'd love Kenny Irons or Marshawn Lynch. A guy who can pound you all game... no RB by committee.

As for Cutler, there's two ways to go about it... the Eli Manning way, or the Phillip Rivers way. The guy has the potential to be great, but I'd hate to damage him by introducing him before he's ready. He looked great against second string defenses playing basic man and zone defenses in preseason, but that's it.

So in short, in regards to the Cutler/Plummer situation, you know about as much as I do.

But I expect that, barring injury, Jake Plummer has made his last start for the Denver Broncos. I love Jake, but part of me wants to see what Cutler's made of.

Re-read that.

What happens when Dan Marino goes on TV after Vick has a good game and says "You see that pass there, that's a very smart play by the quarterback. He must have some white in his blood."?

(He's fired, and sued by the NAACP.)

I was finally happy to see the Bills win. Becuase if Jax won that game, I woulda counted the Jets out of the playoffs, but now, since Jax still has some hard teams left, this helps. All we need is to not look opast teams, and keep playing like this. Our Defense, except for the run, is great, Kerry Rhodes?! f***in awsome, and Coles and Cotchery!!?! Insaine, first 2 1,000yrd recievers we'll have had in a long time!!

Guess I'll have to root for the pats at a few spots this season

atlanta must be kicking themselves for giving vick all that money

I must say, the hate twards Vick is really open ended, I mean, those were some of the worst drops I have ever seen in a single game in football since Jets-Giants game in 1995, and Vick still used his best wepon to keep it pretty close. As for the finger, I hate the big deal people make about that, yea, yea, I understand there was kids, but that doesn't effect your gameplay. Ya throw 5 TDs and then flip the bird, and you suck or something? But yea, I get the 'oo, kids there' part, but welcome to the NBA. I think Vicks great, and ya know, if I was him, I wouldn't throw another attempt, its like Todd Pinkston out there, they keep losing it in the lights or something. And hes going to be the only QB probably ever to rush for 1,000 yards in a season, and is going to be bashed for it. I mean, ITs what hes good at, Manning and Brady are good for being smart, Penningtons good at accuracy, Vicks good at running, its what he does.

Vick is great? your kidding right? career passer rating of 75 and completion percentage at 53.6 , it dont matter if you run for 1000 yards a season if you cant throw the ball your not gonna be succesfull , yeah i will admit his team sucked catching it the other day but thats not always the case . vick has had ONE good season so far thats it , back in 2002 , he is way overated and way overpaid , the way he is passing the ball he would need to run for 2000 yards to be effective

That missed field goal against Pittsburgh really did him in' date=' didn't it?[/quote']

I don't think so.

This is more of a physical injury then any mental. His percentage is at about 72%, which isn't great, but coming off an injury, that's not bad for a kicker.

He also wasn't endearing himself to the coaching staff which probably was the main reason he was cut.

Seriously, Martin Gramatica? They don't really think he's better, do they?

He came about an inch away from missing an XP. You don't think that's mental even after he's been doing terribly?

He still made it, right?

Kickers miss XP sometimes, does that mean that it's mental? (Maybe, because they're being stupid, by not focusing)

Do you not watch his WR's play? He has a team loaded with, at best, #3 WR's. They can't get open against man to man and they can't catch it when they do get open. Vick is a great player and you're kidding yourself if you think otherwise. This team would be absolutely terrible without him.

alright. I have said it here before, I am a diehard Hokie fan and season ticket holder. Vick is only good when he is turned loose. He has to have the ability in the offense to make plays, not follow them. The problem is, he will never be a complete NFL QB because while he will be spectacular, he will eventually get hurt. I love Vick and everything he did for Tech, but the NFL is not completely his cup of tea. Receivers would help, and he can be a very good QB, but will not revolutionize the game.

YES!!!!! NOW BUCS FANS HAVE THE PLEASURE OF WATCHING SIMMS THROW THREE INTERCEPTIONS A GAME NEXT YEAR!!!

That, or watching Gradkowski fail to throw a football to a wide open Galloway 30 yards away.

I've got to say, that makes zero sense. Gruden, who seems to have the confidence of the owner still, likes a mobile QB, that's why he drafted Gradkowski. The problem with Bruce is that he has zero arm. Troy Smith looks like a perfect fit for Gruden's system, with a strong, accurate arm and plenty of mobility. No sense at all.

no you're kidding yourself if you think he's great, out of all the starting QB's in the NFL he would rank not even in the top 10 in my opinion,

where would you rate him?
