Why is welcome back Kapler in today?

Hinske sucks vs. lefties, and I guess Tito felt like giving Cokes a day off.

Good inning boys. Now Beckett needs to maintain the lead.

TAlking heads can't tell the brutal truth or they would lose access to Theo.

Duh. Why this wasn't a problem for the Yanks is beyond me. What happens to Melky when Matsui comes back? What happens to Sheffield whe he comes back? What about Bernie? They have a bigger logjam than us in the OF.

Melky becomes a great 4th outfielder option. Sheffield & Giambi will share time at 1st base/DH

Good grief, at least read my post before re-posting your argument that i just refuted:rolleyes: i will try and make it easy for you---the reason that the yanks won't have a problem is that before the trade they asked sheff and he said he would have no problem being the dh and giambi would stay at 1st. that way when sheff and matsui come back you have abreu, damon, matsui with sheff the dh----bernie and melky the backups ( which bernie was prepared for at the beggining of the year) all of this was set up before they made the deal

the sox would only marginally improve while consuming a large portion of the payroll---it doesn't make sense when we have other needs that are greater to put our resources towards.

Oh, that's right there is no issue with the Yankees shuffling around stars like Sheffield , Giambi, old stars like Bernie, and a really solid kid like Cabrera, but it would have been huge issue for the Sox with Kapler and WMP and Nixon?:dunno:

when beckett can throw a strike they are meatballs---this could get ugly quick...and of course all this happens right after we take the lead

You are officially and idiot now, i have tried to be nice--------the yanks made sure there would be no problem first--as far as the sox i will not retype everything, go back and read them. your problem is that even when you are proven wrong, you still can't let it go and admit it

Are you kidding me? Posada with a SB? This team is a joke with the running game. No pitchers hold the runner well, and no catcher can throw. Isn't that like the 6th or 7th SB by a catcher?

Manny, Coco, Abreu, Wily Mo Pena, Kapler, Trot

explain how that would be worked, in a way to make sure everyone gets playing time

DFA Kapler, bench WMP (he's a 2007 acquisition so I'll worry about that in 2007), Trot is on the bench if Abreu is hitting .400. He's a lefty bat off the bench. He's only gonna be with for another 4 or 5 weeks so who cares if he's P.O.'d.

Here's why you are the official idiot. The Red Sox inquired into getting Abreu before Nixon even got hurt. They asked for the Phillies to to pick up $6 million of his salary. They thought they had a deal, but the Phillies got the Yanks to pick up the entire salary. We didn't make the deal because of the $, not because of the logjam. HE would start and play full time and he'd be destroying the Yankees instead of the other way around. Here's the link to the article that proves you are wrong and the official idiot. BTW; I am glad that you had been nice up till now.;)

ya WMP is the RF for 2007---Abreu still has a huge contract for 2007--so what do you do with him? Plus we need to get him regular ab's this year. Trot is said to be back in a week, not the end of the year-----and they wlll not DFA Kaplar---he is a good defensive replacement.

I will say it again though----why spend the money there when we have greater needs.......havng abreu in RF doesn't fix our starting pitching and bullpen problems,,,,but it takes a big chunch of the money we could use for that

I'll give you a chance to read my last post. Then I would suggest deleting theis post as it is nothing but babble in light of the true facts.

Ok you failed to mention how it would actually be a $20 million plus investment into him, taking away space where they could go for what the team really is in need of... pitching

Another double from Over the Hill Johnny (hereinafter OTH Johnny). Theo and Company will be walking funny after this weekend, because OTH Johnny just stuck it up theirs.

Nice 7 walks today Beckett

Good greif, you just proved my argument. Yes the sox would have gotten him if it wouldn't cost them that much....however why create a problem, ie logjam..... and take on that much money? the sox have greater needs than RF, so they choose to use the resources they have in another area---this is what i have been saying all along. You need to address the problems they have, RF is not one of them

Listen , this all started with a post where I thanked Theo for not picking up all of Abreu's contract. I sat and let you and the other guy go crazy about how he wouldn't fit our roster, yada yada yada. When I pull out the proof, that it was not about the logjam but it was about the money, you say yeah, but what about the $. Thank you for proving the point of my original post. I'll repeat it here: "Theo thanks for not picking up Abreu's full contract."
