Memo to a700hitter: PLEASE stop crying about Damon. I'm tired of hearing it. Thank you.
Well, I'll be singing the same tune for the next 3 1/3 seasons, so get used to it.

What a piece of s***.

Why Mirabelli isn't catching Beckett is mind boggling. Beckett had his best outing recently with Belli behind the plate. Javy isn't able to catch a headcase like this.

I could pitch better than this guy if I had his stuff.

enough of whos catching who , its not the catcher throwing the dam ball . it dosent matter if its belli or lopez , beck has been sucking by whoever catches him

Memo to the FO: You really messed up by not agreeing to pick up all of Abreu's salary.

That wouldve also put them over the apparent MLB spending cap, $136 million. The Red Sox would actually be accountable for $27.7 million

I hope you are joking.......Abreu does nothing for us---we don't improve much with him and it's not worth the money

Please don't justify with figures. It can't be justified. They would have had to make some other moves to get under the cap.

Which would have meant sacraficing some of the available salary for pitchers in the offseason. If you want them to pick up pitchers, then it doesn't make sense to complain about something that would have hindered that ability.

An all star OF with one of the highest OBP's in the game and good speed would do nothing for us? We picked up Hinske, so they must have thought they had a need. BTW Abreu has done a lot for the Yankees and he is ripping us a new one.

Well this sucks, beckett getting squeezed and can't get the close calls while RJ get's a close borderline pitch forcing deuce to swing at a bad pitch and ground into a DP-----going to be a long day

Sorry I'm not buying the BS of the FO apologists. We have the second highest payroll in the game and we ain't making the playoffs. They are doing something very wrong.

Edit: Harry Frazee's accountant told him that he couldn't afford to keep the Babe. It's not a justification.

Ok, who do we get rid of then for Abreu? Also i don't believe he would play everyday which then he'd complain--then if trot comes back we have trot, WMP, Kapler, and Abreu to platoon. Let's also not confue Hinske in this; he was gotten to be a lefty off the bench who can play in right if needed, but will usually sub at 1st and 3rd. Hinske will be a Parttime player---Abreu would yell about playing everyday

Go get a box of tissues if the way they spend money doesn't agree with your philosophy. By the way, the only team I've ever seen that operates with your philosophy is playing at Fenway today, only they aren't wearing white uniforms.

Like it or not, the ownership group has consistently said they want to stay below the luxury tax limit. That is the reality of the situation. With that in mind, I would like them to make whatever moves are necessary to maximize the field talent within their idea of a budget. Would I like them to spend a little more for premium talent? Sure, but that ain't happening so I don't see the point of getting into a tizzy about it.

Are you serious? You are already worrying about him complaining. Plus Nixon ain't coming back. Kapler is a role player. Send him back to japan who cares. Plus if we got Abreu, we would not have gotten Hinske. BTW I don't think Hinske will see a whol lotta time at first or third.

Why weren't the Yankees worried about him complaining when Sheffield and Matsui comes back and what happens to Melky? These are just excuses.

Like I said before if you want a team thats gonna overpay and get every big name cheer for the Yankees.
Like I said before that is really a stupid comment.

so you dont think anybody on the sox team is getting overpaid now?

That's a rarely seen play. I expect full indignation from all Yankee fans that get on Manny's case for not running the ball out because if Posada takes off down the line out of the box, that ball doesn't hit him. I won't hold my breath though.

Why you constantly complain that the Sox didn't get 2 players that the Yankees did? And they'll end up getting a lot more of these big name players that you love, than the Sox will.

They are not worried about him complaining becuase sheff (they already said) will DH most of the time and melky will be the backup OF with Abreu the everyday RF.

You also need to pay attention to what i said. If we got Abreu we would have Kapler, Trot (you can't assume he's not coming back) , WMP, and Abreu--that's too many and Abreu is not getting an everyday spot. Then what do you do next year with him when you expect WMP to be the everyday player. It makes zero sense to get him and pay him that much money when RF is not your problem---the sox have much bigger issues to spend their money and time on....just becuase you like it doesn't mean it's right
