Guys' date=' this is ridiculous. We're giving up on Lester already? We're giving up on Hansen already? It's one game, they'll bounce back, they'll develop.[/quote']They should be developing in the minors or getting their feet wet as a 5th bull pen option, not as key role players in a penant race.

I doubt it would do him much better in the minors. You still pitch a game like you would up here. Let him get used to the seen in Boston and get him the experience. Its not like he is having a terrible time up in the majors. s*** he's 5-1 with an ERA under 4.00

....he's hanging in there but its the fact he is on the Red Sox and not throwing shut outs that people are getting on him. Who gives a damn the rest of this team blows. I don't necessarily fault the young guys....Timlin, Foulke, Clement, Wells, Wakefield, Beckett, Varitek, Nixon......injuries and players underperforming is the problem.

Maybe your right. Maybe at the end of the day Lester isnt hurt either way. It certainly helps that Lester isnt being destroyed on this level. The only thing is in the minors you are allowed to focus on certain parts of your game and when your in the majors your really not able to.

Do they learn s*** coming in the same time Seanez comes in? Do we prosper having Seanez coming in when they would? Put 'em in the water, don't pussy 'em.

Kinda like Paplebon last year (Even tho he took on a bigger role as he proved he could handel it).

Is Rudy Seanez and Julian Tavarez still on this team??

Who else are we going to pitch? Hansen and Delcarmen have been shakey, timlin has not been right, I don't know who else you can throw out there. Good pitching is hard to come by.

Well at that time you said he wouldnt even sniff the majors until 2007 or even later than that

God youre acting like he's a carbon copy of 2006 Jeff Weaver

Hey, hey. I didn't say anything bad about him.

Paps was perfectly used last yr. 5th starter and a MR who proved he could handle setup opportunities and earned the setup job. I think Lester is carrying the burden of the Red Sox rotation as the 3 guy and he cannot handle it yet.

This is like watching a train wreck. Come on, guys. There is still plenty of time to turn things around! But we can't play this way against F'ing KC...

Control improves as you age, but not a ton, typically. There are a few guys who dramatically improve, like RJ did, but most will have a gradual but not huge improvement. Power hitters, on the other hand, usually start out as solid line drive hitters and grow into their bodies. Almost every single hitter, for that matter, improve their power as they age. It is totally different.

Kinda like Scott Kazmir

If things stay as is, this is a backbreaker.

Put 'em in the water' date=' don't pussy 'em.[/quote']If you don't mind going home at the beginning of October and watching the Yankees win #27. I for one find that prospect repulsive, and living in NY will be brutal.

It's just so darned depressing. Despite a spate in injuries, there's no reason for them to be playing like this against KC.

lester is fine. let's not forget he had to be rushed to the bigs because otherwise we would have a three man rotation at this point. it's one bad game, let's not forget he's had a few good ones. i don't think his confidence will get shaken that much. pitchers know not every game is going to be a good one. beckett is a good example. i think having dave wallace back will be good too. also dont forget he has guys like schilling telling him how to bounce back. lester will be fine.

I thought you turned off the game?

By the way, this is not one bad game. His last few outings have been nothing more than mediocre.
