Remy and Orsillo are talking about the MVP race being between Ortiz and Jeter. The NY Press and Yankee announcers are talking this up. Don't tell me that we are going to have to listen to this argument about playing defense again. They can't be serious. DJ is a SS with very limited range, and offensively there is absolutely no comparison. None, zip, zilch, nada. I hope this doesn't turn into one of those years like 1942 when Joe Gordon of the Yankees beat Ted Williams.

he's been doing good in that 5th spot the last couple of days
Yesterday, he only managed a walk. They need desperately for him to be productive in the 5 hole.

I am still pinching myself about JJ the loser.

Edit: He's only thrown 90 pitches. I'd let him go out for the 7th. He seems to be in a really good grove. I'm not worried about burning him out for the stretch run, because he should be DFA in a couple of weeks.

This is Jeter's best shot in quite some time to win the award, and his strongest competition is a DH. Methinks it will get a little nasty from the NY writers.

That new york post article by that guy who looks like a hobo is bringing up how Papi is just a DH. The only DH I can think of who had power numbers like him would be Edgar Martinez. Even so his clutch factor carrying the team is undeniable. His numbers in the clutch, well, its hard to find anyone who matches what he has done for Boston

He's putting up huge #'s and he's doing it in the clutch on a consistent basis.

Yeah but Jeter is Jeter and that's all that matters to people in NY.

He looks like some sort of sissy in his fragrance adds. He must be catching some s*** about that in his clubhouse.

Rare chance to the elusive Platinum Sombrero for Coco.

At least his performance wont be as bad as it was for Shea Hillenbrand in a double header last September against the Sox. He was like 0 for 7, all times whiffing

The ad makes it look like he's more likely to catch some dick, than catch s***.

Speaking of Shea, isn’t it odd that the Jays have started to spiral out of the playoff race since he left?
