Did anybody see what just happened, line drive foul ball off a fan in the stand's head and the person next to him catches it and starts jumping and dancing while the person who got hit in the head has blood coming out of his temple. Wow, talk about a jerk.

Is Gameday on the fritz or did Ortiz really just steal second?

Not on the fritz. Drink up....

*I know you didn't mean anything bad by that, but I'm just having some fun.

does arod really have 3 errors?

did torre sub someone in to play 3rd in the 9th?

That's relevant.

Anyways, did the pitcher roll the ball to homeplate or something?

Nice comeback. Too bad Sexson not only can't hit anymore, but he's a hack in the field. The Yankees win 4-2 with 3-unearned thanks to Richie Rich.

Well in his defense, it could have gone either way. I don't have a problem with it being called an error, but I would understand it being called a hit too.

Good win by the sox regardless of the opposition.

Hey, thanks. Same thing for the Yankees tonight.

Nice come from behind win. Bullpen was nails tonight.

Theo needs to bring in some arms though. Especially if Wake's hurt.

Just something worth mentioning.

Papelbon saved his 27th game this season, which ties him for 8th place on the all time Red Sox single season saves record. Ellis Kinder recorded 27 in 1953 and Jeff Reardon did it in 1992.

Next up for Papelbon is Dick Radatz and Lee Smith who each had 29.

I was at the game tonight and have a couple of observations. Wakefield was in obvious discomfort that I think affected his delivery. Before the 4th inning, I think he only took about 3 warmups and he looked very uncomfortable. These mysterious back injuries have a way of lingering. If so, that could be very bad news. This heightens the necessity that the FO make a move to get a starter.

Secondly, it's obvious that Youk is struggling and its time to put Coco back at the top of the order as he seems to finally be locked in at the plate.

Thanks SFOC again for the tickets to last night's game  3rd row behind the visitors dugout, thrilling to say the least. One of the best games Ive been to in awhile and it was facing the freakin' royals

Dougie's game tying 3 run HR in the 7th with a 3-2 count was just jaw dropping... literally all of Fenway Park was quiet as we watched in slow motion his ball land into the monster seats. Of course everyone, myself included, just moments before were uttering "wheres Varitek??" haha

Game had everything

Meatloaf threw out the first pitch

Will Ferrell dressed up as Luis Tiant and did his best impression of Luis' pitching motion

No ********, got to meet Tony G after the game before he went back into the clubhouse. Just told him thanks for what he did for us last season and he just so happened to sign my ball I brought with me

Wake will go on the DL no doubt, by 3rtd inning I could see him gritting his teeth after throwing each pitch. Theo does need to make a move, but I stand firm that Hansen & Pedroia should be locked away and the key thrown away.

Papi stealing 2nd base, just missing the throw... this game had everything

Also agreed, put Youk in the nine spot, so his OBP does not go to waste

Also, since Varitek is slumping, has anyone thought about maybe giving Mirabelli another pitcher to handle, or just play him more often than when Wake pitches, maybe just temporarily to see if Tek can get himself back into a groove?

man, I'd give my left nut to go see another game at Fenway. Only one I ever saw was Boomer's complete game against Baltimore last season. What an experience that was, one of the most memorable days of my life.
