EDIT: I see your point, but still. The AL East teams haven't seen him before, and he's a dominating pitcher. He pitched well against the Sox too when we went to play the Braves in Atlanta. He's been screwed out of so many wins this year because of his bullpen that it's ridiculous.

Look at how dominating the AL is compared to the NL. That's all I'm saying. Arroyo went over there and could potentially start the All Star game. A 39 year old who's never pitched in the AL isn't a sure thing at all.

It is somewhat of a risk. Maybe they should give Hansen a shot as the 5th starter.

 

Edit: or what about a spot start for Julian T?

Again, this is why you can't really look at the 12 game winning streak as evidence of no real problems with this team. It sucks when 40% of your rotation is on the DL, but they need to make adjustments. The FO hasn't done it yet.

Johnson should be gone after tonight. IMO, he's lucky he got a second chance. I think Snyder deserves a a second start now. Maybe Snyders just been lucky in his 3 starts at pawtuckett/boston or maybe he's finally starting to turn his career around? :dunno:

I’m not sure which is worse: that the Sox could only get 4 hits tonight or Johnson’s terrible performance. Crawford’s steal of home was maybe the worst. Johnson was clueless, pitching from the windup, knowing that Crawford is a known base stealer.
