Randy Johnson continues to fail.

Abreu saves him from any further damage by throwing out Tejeda at second.

Now we just need the Yankees to stop making bad pitchers look good. That'd be nice.

Mariano Rivera worked the ninth for his 27th save. By finishing his 114th game over two seasons, Rivera guarantees his $10.5 million option for 2007.

...as if we expected anything less...

dont you think that's alot of work on a really old arm?

Yeah he is really struggling as is the rest of that team. Randy Johnson pitches a gem (kidding) and they win with a Jorge Posada HR in the 9th. They will be hard to catch if they win out the rest of the season.

Since I'm not a Yankee history buff and was unaware of the anniversary, the timing seemed odd. I did, however, say that I gave her the benefit of the doubt due to her normally very respectful tone here. That qualifier means I agree with you about it not being a big deal. Talk about ridiculous.

Speaking of ridiculous, I can't believe you still complain about what you have to "endure" here. If it's such thorn in your side, don't come back. I doubt many tears will be shed.

I'm not complaining about it, I was just pointing it out. And if you were truly trying to give her the benefit of the doubt you wouldn't have said anything at all. Whether or not it was about Varitek or Munson.

Many people around the Yankees when Spencer was there felt that Torre had a major problem with him because of being a scab. Wasnt Kevin Millar a scab?

yeah, MIllar was a scab. As for Spencer/Torre, really? I find that odd. Torre had no problem plugging Spencer into big spots. Seemed like they had a good relationship.

I remember Spencer toward the end of his Yankee career would complain about not getting AB's and he has said that he thought him being a scab had something to do with it.

Camden Yards has been a House of Pain for the Captain this year. First he missed a few games after getting hit in the hand with a pitch and now he has the Orioles third baseman land on him when he tried to steal.

The inning is finally over.

Now, hopefully, the bats will remember they're facing Adam "I have a 6+ ERA" Loewen.

Its not even that. Loewen has a friggin 1.75 WHIP. Yet hes only thrown 26 pitchers through 2.1 innings. They have to make him work more.

Yankees NEED to have a long top of the 2nd because if they go 1-2-3 in 5 minutes Mussina will be cooked next inning for good.
I thought he looked like he had found his groove by the time the inning ended. The O's probably will not score again.

It can happen to the best offenses

case in point: Mark Redman at Fenway Park held the Sox to 1 run in 8 innings

EDIT: In other news, Toronto is losing AGAIN. They should be 10.5 back by the end of the night

Personally, I hope they are only 9.5 back if they lose, because that means the Yankees have lost too.
