Gibbons is a moron. He removed his best pitcher after he got the first two hitters rather easily.

And now it's 4-4 on a dink hit.

No, that was the right move by Gibbons. Ryan is having a great year, he's a lefty, and Giambi hits from the right side of the plate for that matchup. What wasn't the right move was shifting. Ryan throws hard, and Giambi is patient. From where Ryan delivers the ball, Giambi won't recognize the pitch as quickly, which means theres a chance he's a little late on it. Walking the tying run into SP didn't help.

How foolish is Gibbons to pull Halladay after 93 pitches and on cruise control.
I couldn't believe it when he came out of the dugout. He's an ass. Can you imagine how he would be crucified in Boston.

Quick Farm Report cause I have to get my mind off of the 3rd basemen (If you want to call him that)

Eric Duncan tonight increased his AVG to .285 with an OBP of 382 and an SLG of 533. He is having a big rebound season in AA after some struggles in AAA. Why the Yankees put him in AAA is beyond me. IMO he has reclaimed a top 100 baseball prospects spot.

Giambi is hitting around .360 off of Halladay and if you watched tonight Halladay did not have his good stuff IMO. I cant really knock Gibbons

EDIT: Giambi was hitting .340 coming into the game with 3 HR's against Halladay.

He didn't have his good stuff earlyon, but as with all great pitchers if you let them off the hook they find a groove. Halladay was in a groove when Gibbons came to get him. He was making easy work of the Yankee batters.

Edit: No 2nd guessing on my part. I called him an ******* before Ryan threw a pitch ti the "G" man.

I cant really argue it esp since Ryan blew it anyway. Lefties only have 3 hits against Ryan all season long. The problem that Gibbons should have with Ryan was walking A-Rod cause its not like Giambi laced a hit off of him.

ARod has been whining like a little girl about his treatment. He should be ashamed.

When did this alleged "whining" occur? Please, fill me in because I must have missed it.

Good points. I definately can't second guess the move considering how good Ryan has been this year, especially against lefties. Until Giambi's hit Ryan had only given up a hit to 3 lefties this year. However, on the other side it makes sense to leave the best starting pitcher in baseball in the game with only 93 pitches, and like jsinger said, on "cruise control." Either option would have been completely acceptable IMO.

You are the only one that has missed it. He's been feeling sorry for himself and whining all season long.

Free baseball. f***. I've invested 3 hours in this game, and I really need to go to bed. 3:45 is right around the corner.

This is good to see considering him sort of falling off this seasonwith his AAA struggles. There were a lot of big expectations of him coming into this year after his bad year last season and his dominance in Arizona in the fall. Thankfully for him Phil Hughes has attracted all of the attention regarding Yankee top prospects this season sort of putting Duncan in the rearview as opposed to 2003-2005. Now he only needs to regain dominant status and hopefully we see him ready for the bigs sooner than later. I predict we may see him either mid-season or september of next year, and he will become a regular player in 2008. I hope it all plays out well for this guy.

Did Buck Martinez just say that you pitch Jeter away (I wasn't listening with full attention) because he dives out over the plate? No wonder the US couldn't get out of the first round of the WBC.

I've just seen him accepting all of the treatment like he should. He's taken all the responsibility and has done so with dignity. I dont think he could have handled it better. Please, if you could, refer to a specific instance for me because i'm truly lost here.

Speier is pretty nasty. I remember a couple of ABs where he had Manny total confused. Everything comes out of the same arm slot with the same initial trajectory........until it either runs in on righty (2-seamer) or away (cutter). Guess wrong and you are toast.

If the Yankees don't score in the top of the 11th, Mo would have to go 2 more innings to get the win. Do you think Joe is prepared to go 3 with Mo?

Edit: so what do you guys think? will Mo go 3 tonight?

I doubt he uses him more than 2. He would be in line for 2 days rest after 3 innings tonight.

Yankees are pissing away a golden opportunity here. Tallet is not a good pitcher, but the same thing happened to the Sox when Politte pitched a couple of scoreless innings in the game before the break. Here comes the heart against Rivera.

Blinky gets the motor running. I like that Wells and Glaus are righties......stupid Gibbons, stupid.

Managers keep running on Posada this year and getting thrown out. Catolanato is not very fast, Vernon Wells hits the walk-off. Not too many guys do that to Mo!
