I may be alone here, but after watching two starts, David Pauley reminds me a lot of D-Lowe. First off stuff wise, its almost Identical, They feature the sinker, they both throw that fastball that tails back over the plate to lefties, and they both throw decent Curve balls. The both live 89-91 on the fastball. Also Pauleys delivey to home plate, looks very similar to Lowe. I am not saying he will have the career Lowe had, but to me they seem very similar.

I said the same thing after the Toronto game. It looks like the same delivery. This is not a bad thing and they like his makeup. He did a great job of handling himself against two excellent hitting teams. I can only imagine how D-Lowe would have done at 22 against the Yanks and Blue Jays.

hahaha, i honestly was thinking about making the same thread. He is almost exactly like D-Lowe, minus the headcase, but with not as good stuff.

David Pauley threw ninety-eight pitches against New York at New York in his second outing in a Red Sox uniform.

Good to know.

Pauley does very much resemble Lowe, and his fastball naturally sinks and he has good command of it. His curve is better than Lowe's and with work could be devestating. His change seems good especially when used at the right moment also, Im ver impressed with him so far.

After the Toronto game, I predicted that Pauley's next start would be a better showing of what he has to offer. In Toronto, it was obvious that nerves got the best of him, thus causing him to miss his spots. In New York, he showed his potential.

During the New York game, I saw a little bit of D-Lowe in Pauley, but I think that Pauley has the chance to be the better pitcher, simply because he has better "stuff". I also like Pauley's attitude.

If only he could learn how to field a grounder...

Beckett's not hurt, but I'm not sure when his next start is because of the rainout, and from the looks of it, there are plenty more of those coming our way. I think we just saw what we had seen earlier from Beckett. A nice string of great outings, then one or two that aren't so great, then he goes back on. The problem is that his change up is only 6-8 mph slower than his fastball, so there's not much difference. He wasn't locating his curveball very well so he had to resort to the changeup but he was getting smacked around even when he threw that.

Beckett's fine, he just needs to have more command.
