Foulke should have started the inning. Aside from two or three outings he's been very good this year. Absolutely no reason to start Riske for that inning.

You need to win it tomorrow. Its hard to say how Chacin will perform since this is his first start in awhile.

Bad win...however, there are a few bright spots:

 

The Sox showed that being pwned over six innings by arguably the best pitcher in the AL cant stop them from staying in the game. If our bullpen was stronger we couldve pulled this one out.

 

The Yankees are still one game behind.

 

Coco hit his first home run in a Sox uniform in his second game back.

 

Tek going 2-4 with 3 RBI

Eh I think most of the blame has to go to Clement. he cant be overlooked just because the Sox were able to come back from a 6-0 deficit that he put them there by the 4th inning

Upon further reflection, more like 85-15, mainly because he didn't pinch hit for Gonzalez.

 

Riske needed to show some balls and come through. He didn't.

 

I'm not ready to give up on him though, seeing as he's pitched 1.2 innings all year.

I’m thinking Tito thought the game would go into extra innings and so he didn’t want to use Foulke until at least the 9th. Since Timlin wasn’t available, the call went to Riske, to face the bottom of the Jays order.

He had already gotten great relief work from the rookies, Seanez and Tavarez not available from yesterday’s game, Foulke and Paps being saved for the 9th and beyond, so who else, other than Riske, was left in the pen to be used?

 

Judging by Tito’s seldom use of Riske since his return from the DL, I’m thinking he has lost confidence in Riske. Obviously tonight’s outing didn’t help Riske’s cause.

 

In hindsight I probably would have brought Riske in yesterday’s game when it was 5-0, to give him some work then.

Well, yesterday we all expected to lose, we just gave em a run for their money, winning that game wouldve been a steal n 1/2. I agree though, If Terry needs to work on anything its how to handle his relievers.
