In a real weak draft I'd be happy with the Celtics getting Williams. He allows us more depth at guard and lets West come off as both a PG and SG.

Oh man, if that draft plays out like that I LOVE the suns pick at 21 with Ager, but I don't know much about Brad Newley. Not a bad choice to pick a big. I also would like to see us trade up somehow with both of our picks and try to get a high pick (6-10 range) and draft someone like Randy Foye. He would be great in our system and nice to have to give Nash more rest and to groom into our PG of the future.

Rudy Gay at #5 to the Hawks? It'd be a great pickup for the Hawks. He really should have returned to UConn for another year after falling from possible #1 to possibly outside the top 5. That team will be a playoff team in two or three years, though, whether they get Gay or not.

The Celtics could trade down one to the Rocket's spot and take a second round pick. That would most likely mean the C's take O'Bryant.

Carney won't be picked in the top 10.

Morrison won't fall to 8.

Foye won't be picked after Redick.

Shannon Brown isn't a first round talent.

Shawne Williams won't go higher than 25.

Sports Illustrated smokes rocks.

you know, I like the Williams pick better than Roy. Roy is kind of like Pierce. WE need a really solid ball-handler, west is just an outside shooter

i like Williams to

i could live with a young group of...

Starters

PG--Williams

SG--Delonte

SF--Green

PF--Al

C--Kendrick

Bench

Greene

Allen

Gomes

Jones

that would be a good base to the young team. Then you have Pierce and Wally as the veterans for this year

I think we need a solid PG in Williams over Roy, a type of player which we already ahev in Pierce. Plus, it would give us an icnredibely solid benchw ith both West n Gomes coming off to rest anyone that needs rest, with West playing for guards, and Gomes for fowards.

i think williams would be great. I think Delonte would be a great guy to come of the bench and provide a spark for us. He would start for the year or half a year and then when williams is ready we put him in as a more pure PG. I would love to see the C's get Gay, Foye or Lowry.

The Celtics biggest areas of need right now are at PG and C. Considering that, I think they'll take either Randy Foye (assuming he falls), Marcus Williams, or Patrick O'Bryant.

I'm sorry why would the Sonics ever even considering drafting JJ? They already have 2 guys who love to/can shoot the 3. Getting JJ wouldn't help them at all. I love JJ, but if you have Ray Allen you have no need for JJ Redick.

i think the drafts next wednesday

im now starting to lean towards the celtics trading the pick for someone like Jermaine Oneal. Maybe...

Al Jeff, Raef, Dickau and 1st round pick for Tinsley, O’Neal and possibly 2nd round pick

sounds good to me and if Morrison, Roy or Gay are available at 7, i think the Pacers would consider it.

although, NBAdraft.net has the Celtics taking Lamarcus Aldridge at #7. If he drops down that far, absolutely take him.

i am now thoroughly against highly touted international big men. Just throwing that out there. Aldridge will go in the Top 4, I think that is certain. I am still on the Marcus Williams bandwagon

NBADraft.net is like a mock site for people with downsyndrome. The only thing that makes it semi good is they list players strengths and weaknesses. Their mocks suck balls. Ainge said on EEI the other day that there are people in the online concensus top 7 that he WOULDNT pick if they fell to him, and I'm assuming that to be Ty Thomas, Brandon Roy, and Gay. I fully expect Ainge to pick Marcus Williams or Morrison if he is still there (Ainge practically had an orgasm every time he talks about him), or deal the pick away for a star center (he also said he was working on deals, and had a few proposals).

Beckett95, if you think that the Pacers will deal us Tinsley and a 2nd rounder ON TOP OF O'Neal in that trade you must be on crack. Tinsley will not be a part of that deal. The only way I see us getting another PG is drafting Williams/Foye/Rondo (who has looked real good in work0outs), or if we use our mid-level exception to sign Speedy Claxton. But no way the Pacers will give us that much on top of their best player. Theyre getting a on the rise big man with loads of potential, a decent big man with bad knees and a good 3 point shot, a s***ing PG who would be nothing but a backup to them.

Only on XBOX my friend...that happens. I can say that with 100% certainty that your trade will not go down.

And about NBAdraft.net...I agree Yankshater...site is garbage, me and my friend were looking at it and about crying in laughter due to who they had going where and when in the draft.

Not alot of draft talk going on here but I thought I'd give my opinion on this crazy draft. One of the top 6 players are going to fall to the Celtics, and I don't think anyone can say with any certainty that any one player has no chance to make it to the Celtics. So no one can really say what the Celtics are going to do until we know who is going to be there.

I'm sure what YankeeHater says is right. Ainge claims there are some consensus top players that if they fall to us he will pass on. I'm not sure I agree that Brandon Roy is on that list. I think if hes there they take him, but thats not very likely.

The most likely guy to fall to us out of the group of Morrison, Gay, Aldridge, Thomas, Bargnani, and Roy I think is Rudy Gay. He could go 3 or 6. I think we pass on him if hes the one that falls. He seems similar to Gerald Green but not as good.

If Aldridge, Morrison, Roy, or Bargnani are there I think we should take one of them. I think Ainge could pass on Bargnani but I think that would be a mistake. The three guys I think we're most likely to take if its not one of the top 6 that fall are Marcus Williams, Randy Foye, or Cedric Simmons. I don't see Rondo as an option simply because he isn't a very good shooter. I believe he shot free throws at 63% his senior season and his jumpshot isn't very good either. Randy Foye is the guy I like the best out of this group.

I don't see any big trades. If the Celtics make a trade it will be to move down 3-6 spots and pick up a role player in the process, and that doesn't seem very likely because I'm not sure what position we'd be looking to add a role player at other than pg, and we can probably draft a better point than we could get from moving down.

OK, did anyone else watch the NBA DRaft Preview last night on ESPN, during which Andy Katz said that the Celtics are involved in all sorts of trades. One had them jumping to number one to get Morrison by giving up Al Jefferson and Gerald Green, and another had them going into a 3 way deal in which they would get Allen Iverson, giving up Green Jefferson and another player. This trade involved Philly and Cleveland with Drew Gooden in the mix. Katz said both were possibilities to be done by draft time.

crap, I forgot, there is also a deal possibility in which we send the 7 pick and Dan Dickau to Portland for the 30th pick and Sebastian Telfair

ive read about 5 mock drafts that have the Celtics taking Aldridge at 7. I think if thats the case, they should trade the pick. I think Aldridge is going to be the biggest "bust" of the draft.
