Some Notes from Boston.com

Crisp, in an extended spring training game today in Fort Myers, went 2 for 6 with a home run and played center field.

Red Sox outfielder Gabe Kapler is expected to go on a rehab assignment in Fort Myers early next week.

Pitching coach Dave Wallace visited with Francona at Fenway this afternoon and will have his hip-replacement surgery next Thursday at Mass. General.

First base coach Bill Haselman is scheduled to return tonight after missing the last three games for family reasons.

Game plan is simple.

Make Kazmir work and get to their pen. Don't squander chances against Kazmir because you may not get many more.

Wily Mo goes yard tonight. I'm feelin' it.

I know. WTF is that about?:dunno:

Becuase Kazmir has given up two more runs to MLB hitters this month than Wells.

That makes no sense at all. Wells has faced 0 major league hitters. If I was a betting man I'd stay far, far away from this game.

That was the joke...:dunno:

Can't believe Wells is favored. Definetely not a game I'm expecting to take -- just hope we can keep it within reach until we get to their pen because I'm not expecting to get Kazmir for too many runs.

its about time KC wins a damn series and this would be the perfect time to do it.

Didn't the Yanks get swept by the Royals in a very similar situation (they're hot, KC's not) about this time last year?

yup, KC swept the yanks in KC last year.

Great job fatman---keep it up! I wouldn't get too excited about the royals lead--they have a 6-0 lead yesterday against the tigers yesterday and lost by 5:o Although i would bet if they do lose tonight, we won't see many yank posters!

Damn, Kazmir is real good.

hes filthy.

What the hell were the Mets thinking getting rid of him for a 5th starter who spends most his time on the DL.

Posted
Only one pitch, but fatman left a meatball over the plate that was pulled for a double---he was lucky that it was only a double!

it must suck to be Ty Wigginton. He had a chance to be the starting 3rd Baseman for the Mets, but he screws up and then blooms into a decent player in Tampa Bay

not such a great start to the inning for Wells

He can't get behind guys 3-1 and expect to throw his FB by people.

It's OK, he can work around this.
