Don't be putting this kid in Mariano's class. He's had a fantastic start to one season. Let's see where he is 10 years from now before we compare him to Mo. He could turn out to be Brad Lidge.

Edit- Oh, and don't give me this crap about the 'poor Sox' lineup. The Yankees had Bernie Williams, Terrance Long and Andy Phillips rounding out their order. Deal with it.

yep, lol. Paps has had a great start, but he wont even be a reliever for much longer. He's a starter and he'll be a good one....

You're right. Papelbon's ERA is in the .3s while Mo's is around 3, so they're not in the same class right now.:D

He was a closer in college, and he has taken to that role in all-star fashion in the big leagues, so I think the experiment of converting him to a starter is over. The FO won't mess with this kind of success.

not at this point they won't mess, but I don't think anything is written in stone. Sox management will remain flexible and open-minded and use players as they see fit now and in the future...things change sometimes.

I know it's frustrating, but cora has played great in the field and at the plate these last 2 games!

True Cora has been making contact, and even singled in the 9th off of Mariano to try and give the Sox a chance to tie the game up at least. Gonzalez is in a 1 for 20 slump, Cora these past 2 games has had 5 hits in 8 ABs

It is true though. I don't know he gets hitters out. I haven't really heard what he pitch he really dominates people with. His fastball is so-so, and I don't know what his other pitches are.

If he throws nothing special, nothing dominating, fast ball is so-so then I guess why yankee fans could see he's gonna get rocked... No wait he has a fastball that stays consistent around 95 (sometimes can get it at 97/98), nasty splitter taught by Schilling, cutter, and has been working on a slider. As you guys said, he throws nothing special
