Mike Timlin

Anyone else think he's a severely underrated pitcher? He's been one of the better performers over the last 15 years or so. He has done an excellent job for the Red Sox, and after a rough start to this year (probably brought on by the WBC), he appears to be rounding into form again.

 

 

He's providing major stability in the 8th inning lately, just wanted to see what everyone else thought.

ESPN was saying that he was a great signing for the sox at the end of the season cuz we got him back or like nothing

he's been a little inconsistant, but overall yes he's a good pitcher.

timlin was shaky for like 2 outings. he's been money aside from that. hell, his ERA is under 1.00

I'd say he's underated he's won 3 World Series and he still doesn't get much credit. He's the best setup man in the league. He can go out there and get the job done when he needs to. Yeah he falters sometimes but what pitcher doesn't honestly.

He lets an absurd amount of inherited runner score. (Last year he did anyways) Tito seems to be doing a better job of keeping him out of that role now.

 

He's got good stuff, and he knows how to pich. Sometimes I just think the age of his body gets in the way. I like Mike alot, I just cant bring myself to love him like some do.

 

All set-up men are underated considering they pitch so many high-Leverage innings.

For the sake of saving his arm for the fall, I'd like to see him used a bit more sparingly early on this year.
