  1. It's a good read because it ties a lot together. It has the same flaws as any Sox book, much will be redundant for you. I did inhale it though, so it couldnt have been that bad.
  2. Never underestimate the senior league's need for aging players. Although this World series is extremely odd, and shakes my faith in what i though I understood.. Crap NL team (83 wins) beating a good AL team with good pitching is mind blowing.
  3. He lets an absurd amount of inherited runner score. (Last year he did anyways) Tito seems to be doing a better job of keeping him out of that role now. He's got good stuff, and he knows how to pich. Sometimes I just think the age of his body gets in the way. I like Mike alot, I just cant bring myself to love him like some do. All set-up men are underated considering they pitch so many high-Leverage innings.
  4. Wily Mo has no options left, so if Trot stays healthy when Crisp comes back we'll have a good dilema.
  5. getting beers at your seat is a nice deal. 24 oz at Turner field.
  6. I acn appreciate that people feel differently to me over DD. perhaps I stated my case a little too strongly. However I am one of those types that likes to listen to decent writers, read the blogs and message boards, and avoid the rants of the WEEI set. I just feel like so much time is wasted complaining about the Mark Bellhorn's of the world, or Coco not being back. Talk about it rationally. Bellhorn was a valuable asset that wasnt always pretty to watch, but once he stopped producing what he was meant to produce he needed to go. Ranting about his strikeouts for an hour and ignoring his actual value gets tiresome. Does anybody really feel Coco is slowing his own recovery? Then leave it alone. We dont know what's going on with him because Theo doesnt believe in full disclosure, it's that simple.
  7. Young Martinez Clemens Ruth Grove CP:Foulke (Circa 04)
  8. Fenway, RFK, Atlanta Fulton County, Turner Field, PacBell, and I will be adding Oaklnad to the list next month. (My sister lives in SF so I try to catch games out there) I have also toured the SkyDome, never saw a game though.
  9. Can I post a hundred time somewhere else to get my post count up? Good luck to SFoC that's got to be a tough decision...............and a great gift.
  10. I love Fenway and all it's problems. Don't underestimate it's charms. It's a lasting legacy to baseball. Real baseball before it became the 2nd sport. However, I have been to RFK, and that place sucks to watch a ballgame. I went to PacBell, and it was nice, but it didnt blow Fenway away in the manner I expected. Turner Field is nice too, but it doesnt blow Fenway away either. (Seating alignment being the major difference) I actually liked Atlanta Fulton County SWtadium the best, but that could be because I wanted to see where the great Dale Murphy played. Many places have it better than us, but nobody actually has it better if you know what I mean. The JCL's do get on my nerves though. I have been quieted a few times at Fenway for making too much noise. That really gets on my nerves, and is one of the few things that actually makes me confrontational. Since when did encouraging your team become a problem at a ballgame. Money dictates that we wont get a park anytime soon, and the new owners have done their best for those that can afford to get in. Maybe they should close Lansdowne and rebuild the stadium proper.
  11. Remember when we had too many starters last year? Or when we had too many in ST? These things work themselves out. No need to go trading anyone or benching people yet. Coco isnt even swinging a bat yet. When Coco is back, it will just mean that Wily Mo will face all Left Handers, DH to give Ortiz a rest, play CF to give Coco a rest, and god knows he'll get LF duty on road games for Manny to rest his hamstrings. Until Coco and Trot prove they are healthy, this is not an issue. (I bring trot into this because he's not exactly the enegizer bunny)
  12. If anyone could build a ballpark for Boston it would be this ownership group. I know Fenway isnt going anywhere anytime soon, and I love all the improvements, but someday they will build another park. I feel a lot better now that I got to watch a dry 9 innings. I'll take Fenway as long as it's safe. I think more than anything i'd be curious to see plans for a new Boston park, especially one with a roof.
  13. I was thinking that the AL East needed more retractable roofs, but then I realized we already have 2 domes. The other 3 arent going to change anytime soon. One real way to avoid this is to play more actual double headres to begin with. That would leave more off-days to use if they needed to.
  14. Aside from his 133, that stat just means he hasnt gotten bombed yet. SOSH was debating pitcher abuse, and unless he's tremendously ahead of the pack it's no big deal. If I pich 150,75,150,75,150,60 I'd have okay pitch totals, but a sore arm. Schilling gets enough outs not to get slammed and he made one start go too long. He can handle it, he;'s a horse.
  15. At some point there will be a new ballpark for the Red Sox. It might be 10 years, and it might be 25. However there will need to be a new park before Fenway hits 125. Would you want a roof to prevent a 3 day washout like this weekend? I mean they could probably do a pretty good roof by the time we'd need it. I really dont want one, except I really dont want to go 4 days without a 9 nine inning game again.
