The masses are getting on Coco

It gets people to come to the site. I look at it when I am on the Globe's Red Sox section. (More than anything else to get the EEI vibe because I refuse to listen to that station for more than a trip to the supermarket)

 

Why? WEEI is great, though Mikey is gettin on my nerves becaue of his lack of knowledge for baseball (he's still hilarious though).

Because it's all arguments and scandals. I know people like EEI, but they seem to go after the lowest common denominator too much. My favorite sports radio was Tony Kornheiser. He never stayed on one topic for 3 hours, and he had great writers on all the time.

 

Whenever I hear a player booed at Fenway, I just cant help but think: Was it talk-radio induced? I mean how many of the ass-hats that booed Wily Mo think that was a good decision now? Radio needed a targert and Wily Mo provided it. Never mind that he hadnt been here but 2 weeks and he needed an adjustment period, and just maybe some support.

Yeah, EEI sometimes is a joke too. There are some o.k. shows. Every now and then Ordway is half tolerable, but guys like Mike Adams and a few of the idiots they have on saturday mornings are total idiots. Mike Adams knows nothing about baseball. I hate Mike Adams.

Wow, I don't know about Boston Sports Radio because I am not there, but New York talk radio sucks. mike and the mad dog, its listening to this guy ramble in a high pitched voice about one topic for 5 hours and then having these stupid people call in while Mike Francesa reads the paper. WEEI is ok--i would much rather listen to that then some other nuts out there. "dale and holley" are good, and "the big show" is pretty good if you filter out some of the crap there. For the most part though they have good insights!

Dirt Dog's is racist. Plus he knows that we are all hurting over a Yankees loss. Just an easy way to stir up trouble. He'd lay off his boy trot, but oh yeah....trot's white.

Dirt dogs is not racist. Trot was out for a week with a pulled groin of course no one was going to jump on him. Meanwhile Coco was supposed to be back as of today two days ago, I'm fine with him taking all the time he needs, Dirtdogs is just doing what Dirtdogs is paid to do: stir up the pot. It has nothing to do with skin pigment.

 

I will remind you the DD bashed the hell out of Mark Bellhorn and Nomar for what they did whne they were with the sox.

I acn appreciate that people feel differently to me over DD. perhaps I stated my case a little too strongly. However I am one of those types that likes to listen to decent writers, read the blogs and message boards, and avoid the rants of the WEEI set.

 

I just feel like so much time is wasted complaining about the Mark Bellhorn's of the world, or Coco not being back. Talk about it rationally. Bellhorn was a valuable asset that wasnt always pretty to watch, but once he stopped producing what he was meant to produce he needed to go. Ranting about his strikeouts for an hour and ignoring his actual value gets tiresome. Does anybody really feel Coco is slowing his own recovery? Then leave it alone. We dont know what's going on with him because Theo doesnt believe in full disclosure, it's that simple.

I've seen the NESN commercial, so let me say: Reading the line "Did you see that catch Coco made?" is the equivilant of YES having a commercial stating "Did you see that save Mariano Rivera made against Boston?" C'mon Crisp, get healthy.
