Loretta starting to show some life.

He's 7 for his last 14, but he's been in the top 5 in LD% pretty much all year. He's really not hitting the ball that much differently, it's just finding a hole more now, which was bound to happen when you hit the ball like he has.

ortiz is having some offensive trouble these days....
Oh yes, we are very worried about Ortiz' hitting. Hopefully, he'll break out of it against the Yankees.

11 homers sucks' date=' doesnt it[/quote']

Note the term these days. His average is now under .260. He's not hitting lately, doesnt mean it will continue. Just pointing it out...

oh boy here comes a "struggling Ortiz" thread.

Please he had his ups and downs in 2005 as well, but he did alright. IMO last April he just had a .250 avg. I dont see cause for concern as Riv is trying to pump into us. A-Rod is batting .260, but are you worrying?

This is par for the course for Ortiz. On the pre-game, they pointed out that in May in the last 2 years his average was about .250-.260, but his power production is up this year, so the league had better watch out.

if you look at his splits, he has mediocre aprils and great May's. Last May he hit .330...
