espn.com reports that Tek will catch for Wake tonight because Mirabelli's flight isn't scheduled to arrive on time?

And they report that the Yanks tried to get Dougie so the Red Sox wouldn't...are they scared?

They also report that the Yanks tried to get Dougie so the Sox couldn't...are they a bit scared about the combo of Wake and Mirabelli?:dunno:

even tough he went 0 for 4 at the plate he did an awsome job behind the plate including throwing out a runner ,oh and no pass balls :) so glad to have him back ,and you can tell wake was more comfortable pitching tonight

Oh, god, I just got back from Boston. HUGE traffic jam outside.

Anyways, I was at the game last night, and we went f***ING crazy when he was announced. Most people (including me) didn't even know he had been brought back.

Lack of prospects bites the Yankees in ass again. They could've really messed with us if they could have offered a competitive package.

Please, i'm sure if we wanted to we could have matched Josh Bard and Cla Meredith. Not too steep a price. We only got involved to dirve the price up for you guys. For all we know we could have offered a better package but the Padres asked Doug where he would prefer and he said Boston, who knows. But trust me, Josh Bard and Cla Meredith would have been easily matched by the Yankees.

Watching last night's game has caused me to wonder how much better/worse/same Wakefield's performance has been since the return of Mirabelli. Are there any pitching stats (like better ERA with Belli than with Bard) that substantiate his return as an improvement?

3 PB s in one inning? You start to think that getting Belli back is a panic move. Maybe the solution is getting Wakefield out of the rotation. The knuckler is too inconsistent and runners are running all over the bases. It's hard to watch.

yeah, it is wake's fault. The guy is what he is, a solid #3-4 starter who can win in boston and against the yankees. Damn, get rid of him...

It's too late for that. The time for that was the winter or ST. I can't stomach watching the knuckleballer pitch. It's like Gump's mother says: It's like a box of chocolates. You never know what you are going to get. The only thing is sometimes Wake's outings really leave you with a s***** taste in your mouth.

Well you will be seeing more of Wake because he basically has a lifetime contract and if he eats innings and win 12-15 games a year then he will keep coming back.

I know. I know. And I've met Wake and he is a likeable and standup guy, but my stomach churns too much when he pitches.
