I have a good feeling Schilling will continue his great start with a 7 IP, 1 ER, 6 K effort and we take the first game of the series, 5-2.

i think i read somewhere that the Guardians are the only al opponent that shill has never beat. knock on wood.

its the only al opponent he hasnt beat while with the red sox. He does have a 1-2 record against them, that win coming in an interleague game in his time with Philadelphia or Arizona

Sounds like it is going to be a good matchup at the jake, I am going to have to use the MLB.COM Free gamecasts things since I don't get nesn. Damn. Schill keeps it up, 5-0, damn thats a good start, I think wake can rebound tomorrow. It's all good right now.

I was gone (in the middle of nowhere) over the weekend so i missed fri and sat games--and saw a bit of sunday's via tivo, then a day off-----------------bout time we had another game:D I was starting to go through withdrawls!!

I think it will be more difficult tomorrow 'cause Cleveland have good hitters and I'm not sure Wakefield will strike out a lot .... defense !

You're right. Wake may not strike out a lot of people, but we won't have to worry about that until tomorrow night. Schill's on the mound tonight :)

Sox take it tonight. I expect a breakout from the Sox tonight. Hopefully Manny can continue and break out even more with his recent success against his former club and silence the crowd early.

GO SOX!

with wake on the mound the Guardians are going to take advantage of wake's slow approach and attempt a lot of steals. so i expect for that game for bard to look pretty shakey and have a lot of passballs. but that is tomorrow, tonite shill is going to shut em down. manny is going to have a 2 hr night against his old club. let's go sox.

ok Bard has been getting better with each start, Wakefield is comfortable with him and it has shown. A thorn in Wakefield's side has been that the Sox bats seem to take a holiday when he's pitching, they need to answer the call tomorrow.

first start- 4 passed balls

last 3 starts- 2 passed balls

first start- 7 Runs in 3.2 innings

last 3 starts- 7 Runs (4 ER) in 24 innings pitched

5 total run support from Sox offense in his first 4 starts

i was not saying that bard is bad, i just was trying to say that since the Guardians are going to take advantage of wake's slow set up, the Guardians are going to run all over the place, and it will just add something more bard will have to worry about and that might lead to more passballs coupled with trying to catch knucklers. it will take a while for bard to get used to catching for wake, and it is nice to see his progress since his first start. very promising. but yea, wake needs to get some f***ing run support. i feel bad for him.

Geez, why is harris in center again tonight. Can we please get Mohr some consistant ab's. He did very well in ST with constant ab's, i would like to see what he could do now.

Oh a bright side, shill struck out his first guy:D

We usually do use this thread to discuss other games in the MLB...

I don't care about other games in MLB....I care about red sox talk.....The Yankees are for the general baseball discussion.
