Let's admit that if instant replay was used in baseball, Sox don't win this game. What a break.

Nice logic; they teach that in NY:rolleyes: We can all agree that the ump blew the call---but the inning ended on the next batter, so there is no way to assume anything except the sox would have 1 less run. We all know you wished that the sox lost--but let's try to keep it from going completly off the deep end!

And you can make the argument that without Instant Replay the whole Yankee Dynasty may never have been as who knows what would have happened if the O's win that game and take a 1-0 lead in the series. The Yankees may have been a totally different team if they don't win in 1996.

I dont like playing the game of the pre-determined outcome. Either way, the sox caught a break today that "may" have won them the game. The Yankees got jobbed last night, who knows, the umps might have been responsible for a 2 game swing in the AL East and it is only week 2. 3 horrible calls in 2 games warrants suspension....

RF in Fenway is very tough and it will expose many OF's . Last year, I was at Fenway and I watched Figgins look lost out there. We have also been spoiled by Nixon. I heard about some statistical study that showed that Trot is the best RF, but I don't have a link. I like Wily Mo, and I think he will be an offensive force.

I think this is what you were talking about, a700hitter.

Nixon, meanwhile, was a plus-12, best in the bigs in right. By Dewan's calculations, Nixon was expected to catch 228 balls, caught 240, and saved the Sox 18 bases.

That's a large larger scope to say the least. The larger you stretch things out, the more variables come into play. Plus, we don't believe in the fallacy of the predetermined outcome.

Yeah, they're not going to change anything and I'm not saying it's yankee hating umps or sox loving umps, I just think this is more evidence how instant replay would be useful.

Unfortunately you are caught in a bind. It will ruin the purity, but it will make the games called fairly. Maybe I'd support something like the NFL, where you can challenge 2 calls a game and the strike zone is not one of them....

I couldn't care less about the purity, and the tradition and all that. Umps are human and will blow calls, and it DOESNT have to be part of the game. We've got the technology, use it.

I was all thinking more of like the NBA style, where any close play is looked at, no challenge is needed.

Jeter always tries to be a hero...I was watching the Yankees vs. Twin-holes game today and a bouncer was hit up the middle, Jeter grabbed it, and instead of stopping and making an easy throw, had to keep running, and make an offbalance throw in the air and the guy was safe.

If you are thinking about the play I am thinking of, then you are on crack. First off, stopping from a dead sprint in hard to do, and it takes time. Second off, I believe the runner was fast and would have beaten it out either way...

P=mv. What's that? The equation to momentum. Mass multiplied by velocity will give you that and due to the law of conservation of momentum, that product will remain the same. Meaning that, no, there is no way he could have just stopped and thrown the guy out. Yes, I could have made this post shorter, but I decided to be a hero.

I think Jeter is gay..... anyone else think so?

Jeter has been with more famous hot women then you could yank your wank to, and I think the real homo comes to a fight in his catchers mask.

Nixon's deal was only a few days I believe. He's been out for awhile. I would say he'll return by the end of next series at the latest. Isn't Coco a week or 2 away? He still needs to be looked at again to make sure everything's ok with his hand.
