Time for my 1st GT of the year.

Pineiro was the losing pitcher Sunday against Oakland, allowing six runs (five earned) and 10 hits in seven innings. He was done in by a three-run fifth and a two-run seventh, in which he allowed a two-run homer to Eric Chavez. Pineiro is 2-5 with a 7.71 ERA in eight career games against Boston. He allowed 12 earned runs and 18 hits and was 0-1 in two appearances last season against the Red Sox.

Wakefield bounced back from a rough first outing, producing a victory over the Orioles in his second start. In that one, Wakefield pitched six innings and allowed just one unearned run. This is Wakefield's first start of the year at home, where he went 10-4 last year with a 4.08 ERA in 16 starts. In his career at Fenway, Wakefield is 64-56 with a 4.35 ERA. Against the Mariners, Wakefield is 3-7 with a 4.57 ERA in 22 career outings.

Interesting that Tito gives Loretta and Lowell days off on the same day that Wakefield is pitching so that Varitek is out of the lineup. This is a very weak lineup today in my opinion.

Also I'd rather have Youkilis at first and Lowell at third. JT snow shouldn't be getting this many starts so far in beginning of the year when Youkilis has swung the bat pretty good so far.

I think this line-up can do some damage! Stern has been hitting well and cora should get on a couple times. We'll see what happens, but let's hope and pray for good things!

I hope I'm wrong but any lineup that has Cora/Snow/Pena/Bard/Gonzalez in it all at once is not going to score 7 runs.

Wake had better be on.

Yeah, does the lineup have to be this drastic? I mean, I'm not going to include Pena's name in that bunch but christ, not a lot of pop in this lineup. I miss coco

Wow, looks like Alex Cora in the f***ing two spot is really gonna pay off here with the bases loaded. Nice job terry, you're an idiot.

Stern is a good hitter, I was mildly comfortable with him at the plate just then. He just didn't come through. Cora I am not so comfortable with at all.
