It's a common regional misuse of standard English. The word "ain't" is also in the dictionary as non-standard english, but anyone using that word also sounds idiotic. Don't use the word. It makes you look ignorant, and I dont think you are ignorant.

It also says that its a regional, mainly north/northeast, word. Last time I chedked I lived in New York, located in the Northeast. Its the same as Midwesterners calling soda "pop."
