wonders if NESN should do this!!!

NEW YORK, March 2, 2006 — The YES Network will premiere its "Yankees Batting Practice Today" Presented by your Tri-State Lincoln and Mercury Dealers show when YES televises the New York Yankees' season opener Monday, April 3 at Oakland. The batting practice program, expected to air prior to approximately 100 YES Yankees telecasts, will consist of batting practice from the Yankees and their opponents, features, analysis, matchups, interviews, statistics and the latest news from baseball and throughout the world of sports.

The half-hour batting practice show will lead into YES' existing pre-game show, followed by YES' Yankees game telecasts. For Yankees weeknight home games, the batting practice show will air at 6 p.m. ET, followed by the Tri-State Ford Pre Game show at 6:30 and the Yankees game at 7. YES' post-game show will follow immediately after the conclusion of all Yankees game telecasts.

The YES Network 128-game Yankees broadcast schedule will commence April 3 at 10 p.m. ET, when the Yankees visit Oakland. The batting practice show will air at 9 p.m. ET, followed by the Pre game show at 9:30, and then the game telecast. YES' post-game show will wrap things up afterwards.

"Yankees fans are among the most passionate in all of sports, and this new program is meant to bring fans even closer to their favorite team and players," said John Filippelli, president, production and programming, YES. "We will give fans an exclusive look at a time-honored pre-game ritual usually available only to those in the stadium, and we'll also provide player profiles, commentary and other features."

There gonna show batting practice on TV and talk about the game? I think we get enough analysis from TV anyhoo, there's no need for one pre game show, one pre game into, and two post game shows.

Oh, and welcome to the site! Consider making an introduce yourself thread.

I think it's really cool to watch live batting pratice from home.. it's just as if you were at the stadium, but instead you're watching it on TV. Sure it gets boring after a while, but you don't have to watch everyday. It's your choice.

True. Who am i to stop NESN or YES from showing what they want? I'm sure I'd watch it if it were a big game or something.
